Chaos erupted at the sound of the bell, everyone scrambling against each other while Dabi decided to get a better view.
Let's see what we're working with...
He let his feet catch fire, rocketing himself to a place on the wall and burning himself a handhold so he could look over the chaos.
This is gonna be more difficult than I thought...
All the contestants were in one of three boxes. The ones who were fighting, like Mirko and more notably a giant lady that was stomping half the competition. Some people were running towards the exit, either to camp or to be prepared in case they needed to make a quick escape. Then there were the people like him, who had decided to simply watch and plan instead of panicking.
"Pretty chaotic don't you think, Pyre?"
Unfortunately for Dabi, Hawks fell into that last box.
Fuck my life...
Dabi sighed as Hawks floated next to him, both of them keeping their guard up but neither letting it show.
"It's a creative exam..."
No matter what happened there would be at least 2/3 of the competition eliminated since to pass they needed both their smartwatch and their targets to pass. Half of the people would get eliminated by having their watch stolen. The other half would get eliminated once their target left the room.
Whoever designed this test is a sicko...
He was pulled out of his thoughts as Hawks nodded in agreement, "Well that's one way to put it. Though there is some good news about this portion of the exam."
Dabi watched as Hawks showed him his smartwatch, the number 78 emboldened as Hawks gave a knowing smirk.
"There's no reason to be enemies."
Dabi looked over to Hawk's sleazy expression, chuckling as he showed Hawks his number in return.
Guess birdbrain isn't dumb after all.
Hawks took the information in stride, their new alliance solidified as he started planning, "27 and 78 huh... they finished in the top 100 so they should be decent. Their names are a big indicator as well."
Dabi nodded at his assessment, using his smartwatch to scroll through the scoreboard.
27 Stonehenge and 78 DragonFly
It wasn't hard to guess who DragonFly would be but Stone Hedge would be a little tougher. There were a lot of elemental quirks at play that could apply to it.
Finding the exact one would be tough.
Dabi shook his head, eyeing the participants flying near the roof a few stories above them. Deciding as he spotted a woman flying around with green goggles and long black hair. Her body suit was detailed to resemble scales as she scanned the battlefield with dragonfly wings.
Better to handle this quickly...
Dabi smirked, "Guess we should start with the easier one."
Hawks grinned as Dabi launched from the wall, a streak of blue fire running through the air as he shot toward DragonFly. Hawks catching up to him in an instant, "You read my mind."
Dabi clicked his tongue as Hawks pulled ahead of him, Hawks being faster than him in the air by a decent margin.
Stupid bird.
Dabi stepped on the gas as Hawks reached the target, DragonFly shouting as she dodged the feather sword that flew an inch from her head.
Tch!
