In pure darkness, something was behind her. Marcie charged away from the eerie presence that grew closer to her, but with every panicked step she took, she could feel she wasn't going anywhere. Running in place while an entity of unknown origin makes its way to her location. Terrorized yelps escaped her breath as she kept sprinting, only for the invisible entity to place a hand on her shoulder. She could see the fabric of her shirt shrink onto her skin as the hand put pressure on her. However, there was nothing to be seen, nothing to be heard. Nothing but Marcie's scarred pleas for the future entity to stop.
"Stop it! Leave me alone, please!" Marcie cried.
"Why are you running, Marcie?" a familiar voice questioned. As it came into Marcie's peripheral view, She could see the figure was headless. Blood dripped down its neck onto its white collared shirt and eventually onto the brown sweater it wore above it. Hearing its voice reminded Marcie of a teenage boy who has yet to reach puberty.
"Wh-Who are you?" Marcie's voice trembled. Something told her she knew who this was but she didn't want to believe it. She did everything in her power to deny that this was the body of who she thought it was.
"Don't you remember?" The headless body went ahead and softly placed its hands on Marcie's cheeks, catching the tears pooling beneath them. There was no doubt about it.
It was Luci.
He carefully swept away the tears with his black-tipped fingers and continued to hold Marcie's head in his soft palmed hands. She hesitantly raised her own hands so that they would cup over Luci's.
"Why is Isaac saying you're dead?"
"He likes to lie as much as Vitae does. You were right, Marcie. Gods only evolve." Luci's voice had a strong echo following his words. He took his hands away and sparked a flame to appear within his palm. Raising the dancing flame toward the gory remnants of his neck, It enlarged quickly as it took shape of what was supposed to be his head. It was then that Marcie realized Luci had aged with her. Sharp jawline, taller, even the large gash in his cheek grew large enough to touch his almost purple eye bags.
"I've been meaning to say this but never got the chance since you had something going on with another guy..." Luci started, grabbing the attention of Marcie quicker than the speed of sound.
"I Love You,"
"Luci..."
"I've loved you more than anything, Marcia."
She'd hardly heard him say her actual name before which caught her off guard, but that didn't stop her from being completely speechless.
"Marcie?"
The darkness that once engulfed them turned into Marcie opening her eyes to find herself blinking at a ceiling. The memory of what she had just seen began to fade away, Marcie desperately tried to cling on to what she had left. She looked around her and found Mariana sitting on a comfortable-looking chair a few feet away from the mattress on which Marcie supposedly slept.
"You're awake! I've been calling your name now for who knows how long!" Mariana exclaimed.
"It was only a dream?" Marcie questioned, sounding out of breath even though she has been laying in bed for the past 3 hours.
"Don't know what you're talking about but yup, I found you upstairs in a room with a nice smelling candle lit and you passed out. Are you lymphatic or something?"
"Asthmatic." A voice from the opposing side of the room corrected. Marcie turned her head to notice it was Nivis.
"Do you even know what lymphatic means?" Nivis continued.
