Once upon a time, long ago, well, more like 20 years ago, Belle married her Beast in front of 6,000 people. That is way too many people in my opinion, and instead of a honeymoon, like normal people, Beast united all the kingdoms. Then, he got himself elected King of the United States of Auradon. It must've been those 6,000 people that got him there.

Now, as if being the top king wasn't good enough, he decided to round up all the villains and sidekicks, the people who have cool backstories instead of your typical princess story, yes, those people. Yeah, he booted them to an island in the middle of the ocean, declared it the Isle of the Lost, and then threw up a magical barrier to keep them all there.

Everyone celebrated for days and decided to forget the villains and sidekicks existed. Which is seriously stupid, like what if they got out? Anyway, I totally understand the whole 'giving them no magic' thing because I mean, look at what they used it for the first time around. But no healthy basic food? Houses that aren't completely destroyed and falling apart? What about wi-fi even to just pass the time?

Nope! Neither Beast nor Belle, or anyone really, gave them the basic needs to survive. How does that make us any better than the villains? We did something they would have done. Aren't we supposed to be the good guys? Isn't revenge, even if a small amount, a villain thing?

If you haven't guessed it yet, my parents are Queen Belle and King Beast, making Ben my brother. I'm Princess Rose Beast, younger sister to Prince Ben, him being older than me by a year. His coronation is coming up soon, and as his first action in the soon-to-be king role, he is bringing four villain kids from the Isle to come live here in Auradon.

He's worried that our parents aren't going to agree, and I can see why he'd expect that. He told me his plan last week, and I nearly made him deaf with my excited scream. I'm beyond proud of him for trying to make a real, actual difference in our kingdom.

He asked me to be there when he breaks the news to our parents, hoping that my presence will ease the tension, however, my opinions won't sway mom or dad. My opinions have gotten me my fair share of rude comments and bullying, especially when I try to justify the villains' side of the story. I may not agree with what the villains did to people, but I can see where they were coming from. I try to understand their side of the story because I full-heartedly believe that there are two sides to every story. This outlook on our world makes it difficult to make friends here at home and makes it even harder to get people to take me seriously even though I'm Ben's sister.

Currently, I'm sitting at my brothers' desk in his office, looking out the window at the Isle. I wonder what I'd be doing if I was over there. Ben is getting his coronation suit fitted, even if his mind is a million miles away. He asked our parents to meet us here so we can tell them the news. I'm so not looking forward to this.

"Sleeve." The designer states to Ben, snapping me out of my thoughts. I snicker as Ben keeps moving around in anxiousness. I smile at him when he looks at me, hoping to ease his worries, even just a little bit. I know he's worried, but he's prepared to take his role as king seriously and that includes the people on the Isle. I couldn't be any prouder of my brother than in this moment. He smiles back to me just as dad walks in with mom on his arm.

"How is it possible you're going to be king next month? I can't believe it." Dad tells Ben as mom hugs me before gushing at my brother. They're so proud of him.

"He's turning 17, dearest." Mom reminds dad, knowing that dad himself became king at 16. Dad wanted to pass the crown off to Ben last year, but my brother told him that he didn't feel ready enough to rule the kingdom. Mom had compromised and said he could do it this year, which worked out for both of them.

"17? I hope you're more ready than I was. I didn't make a good decision until I was 40." Dad tells us, and my jaw drops.

"You married me at 28." Mom tells him, offended by his statement.
