Hailey fell to the floor, face pale. It was her imagination, right? There was no way that was blood. What kind of psycho would send a police officer bags of human blood? Hailey turned to face Jake and saw him walking up to her. He offered her a hand and she took it. He pulled her up surprisingly easily. Hailey was shaken and he could tell. "Let's go outside and get some fresh air." She nodded, and tailed him outside. He turned around and called to Atlas "Can you put that box with the rest of them in evidence?" She nodded and picked up the box as Jake turned back around. Hailey was confused, and mortified. "This has happened before?" Jake nodded solemnly. "How do you think I knew what was inside? Its happened fourteen times so far" Hailey was taken aback. "Who is sending the blood? And who's is it?" Jake shook his head. "I don't know who's sending it. And id rather not say who's blood." Hailey nodded as they got off the elevator and walked outside the precinct. As they walked out, another man was walking towards the front doors. Hailey paid no attention to it but Jake smiled and waved. "Hello Trevor" The man Nodded at him. "Good evening Lieutenant." He stopped in front of Jake. "Hailey, This is Detective Trevor Dalton. He has some of the highest arrest numbers ever seen in the police force." Hailey stared at him in amazement. "Wow, that's amazing." He smiled at her. "It's nice to meet you, darling." Hailey felt her face flush red in surprise. Jake slapped his forehead. "Detective, Inside." Trevor Hurried through the front doors as Jake sighed. "He's an amazing detective, but he's a playboy." Hailey laughed. "I believe it. He definitely has the looks." Jake laughed with her. "He keeps trying to hit on Atlas and she turns him down every time" Hailey was so distracted by Jake and Trevor, that she had momentarily forgot about what she had seen. She was focused again and had her head downturned.  Jake picked up on her sudden mood change. "Hey, why don't you tell me what happened with everyone else from the music club?" Hailey looked at him. She smiled, glad that he was distracting her. "Well, Sean is a music producer and songwriter. He works with a couple low class artists. Zander Is in his final year of medical school to become a neuro surgeon." Jake was quite surprised. "Zander is going to become a doctor?" Hailey nodded. "He tried to become a classical musician, but it doesn't pay well enough." Jake could see how that would be a problem. "What about Milly and Luke?" Jake asked her. She smiled. "Milly is the head of a punk band. She plays electric guitar and is known for her hot headedness and temper issues." Jake laughed at this. "That sounds like Milly alright." Hailey laughed with him, almost completely forgetting about what happened moments ago. "As for Luke, he's a professional soccer player. He's actually pretty good and has quite a big following." Jake wasn't surprised about that. "He always was the popular kid." Hailey laughed. They stood their, Telling stories and sharing some work experiences. Turns out Hailey was a coming up scientist in a biology wing. "What exactly do you do?" Jake inquired. Hailey thought for a minute. "Well, I mostly look around human and animal digestive tracks to figure out what could be potentially dangerous and not. I'm currently working on figuring out how to cure some disease with natural energy inside the human body." Jake was a bit confused on her wording, but understood the main premise. "That sounds like a great job. Also sounds like it pays really well." Hailey laughed. "Yeah, Fair enough." They stood there in silence for a little while before Jake said "I have a case to work on. Why don't we catch up a bit more after my shift?" Hailey liked this suggestion, but also didn't want to be left alone with her thoughts. "Can I come with you?" Hailey asked him. Jake hesitated. "I don't think so. Your not a police officer and your not even gun certified." Hailey looked at him with soft eyes. "Please, Jake." She pleaded with him. He looked around him, and sighed. "Alright, fine." She put on a huge smile and Jumped at him. "Thank you Jake." She almost knocked him to the floor as she enveloped him in a hug. He laughed and hugged her back. They let go of each other and walked to Jake's car. As They were getting in the car, they heard a loud explosion and the window's of Jake's precinct shattered. Jake jumped out and slammed the door of his car as he sprinted towards his precinct. Hailey went to follow but he shouted at her "Stay away from the building." She stopped in her tracks, hearing actual seriousness in his tone. Jake unholstered his gun as he walked through the door to his precinct. He checked every doorway on the first floor before going to the second floor. He burst through the stairwell door into a pitch black room. He turned on his flashlight and held it against his shooting arm. He looked around and there was no one in the room. He heard a door open to his left so he whipped around, pointing his gun into the darkness. He saw Atlas, Pistol draw, walk into the room through the door. They looked at each other and Atlas moved towards Jake, cautious of her surroundings. They met in the middle of the room. "Put yourself against my back, Lieutenant. Circle around to cover all angles." Atlas whispered. They put each other back-to-back and Spun around slowly, shining their flashlights everywhere. Eventually, Jake spotted a canister on the floor. He pointed it out to Atlas, and they converged on the canister. Jake crouched down to examine it with Atlas watching his back. He shone his flashlight onto the canister. It looked like a standard tear gas canister at first glance. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a pair of rubber gloves. He put them on and picked the canister up. As he picked it up, he heard an electronic beeping. He put the canister to his ear and it grew louder. He looked inside the canister and there was a timer with 4 seconds left on it. *Beep* It went to 3. Jake's eyes widened as he tossed it across the room. "ATLAS, GET DOWN!" He shouted loudly as he flung himself towards her. She turned to him in confusion as he tackled her to the ground. As the pair hit the floor. Their was a bright light and another loud bang.
