Old school R&B was blasting in the backyard of the home Nadia grew up in. Her entire dad side of the fanily was out and having a blast celebrating the life of her grandfather doing another trip around the sun.

She wasn't going to show up like her dad had thought but she had nothing better to do besides be bored in her own thoughts so she figured might as well spend time with her family even though she wasn't looking forward to have to see her brother for the first time in over a year.

"That was a fucking foul." Chris spoke letting out a laugh. He was playing a game of basketball, 3 on 3, with Nadia's cousins that he had a pleasure of meeting back when they were together, in the driveway of the home where the old basketball hoop was that used to belong to Demetrius.

"I don't know why your husband invited him." Nadia mumbled to her mother who just chuckled while they sat on the porch watching.

"He likes him,"

"But we not together anymore. It's boundaries to this and this is one. Inviting him to a family gathering knowing how I feel about him? It's fucked up."

"It is but hey, your father does what he wants to. He secretly wants you two back together."

"Not going to happen. God gone have to send the flood for that to take place," Nadia scoffed as she burned her eyes into Chris's head, setting him on fire over and over in her mind.

"Well, enough about him. Are you coming back to LA after this? Don't have us move all the way out there just for you to stay in Atlanta."

Nadia hasn't been back in LA fully in about four months. She was only supposed to stay in Atlanta for a month but loved how she was there mentally and stayed before she left back to LA for only two months and went to ATL again.

She was avoiding LA only because of Chris but it seems no matter where she went, he'd be there.

He made sure of it.

"I'm liking it there but I'm missing LA too. It sucks I bought that house and now I'm rarely there. Maybe I'll go back after this,"

"You should. You shouldn't have to run off just because of what happened."

She wasn't going to tell her mother about Isaiah just yet. That was also a reason she wasn't ready to leave ATL just yet. After they started talking some more, they liked how much of a vibe they both had with each other and that resulted in them going on a date. It wasn't anything too fancy since it was last minute but nonetheless they both still had the best time.

Isaiah had rented out the stadium for her and they had dinner and watched a movie of Nadia's choice on the screen. It wasn't much but it was much to her.

"I'm not running off because of what happened,"

She defended putting her eyes back on Chris who was already looking at her. Marcela noticed and let out breathy laugh standing up from her spot on the porch.

"I'm gonna grab something to drink," She told her daughter before walking in the house without waiting for a answer.

Chris took this as an opportunity to join Nadia on the porch making her roll her eyes, "You so phony."
