"Yeah, so I wake up at like 3 p.m. on a Sunday to find out you are taking me to your village on my vacation?? A vacation that is rightfully mine where I can do anything better like studying (definitely not daydreaming while staring at the book)  than stare at a bunch of cows? I am sorry, but do you realize that I am in HIGH SCHOOL??"

"WELL, FIRST OF ALL, YOU WAKE UP IN THE AFTERNOON WITH DROOL ALL OVER YOUR FACE AND NOW YOU ARE QUESTIONING ME AND MY DECISIONS???"

"Dude, I-"

"I AM YOUR MOM, DON'T YOU DARE CALL ME THAT!"

"Okay, mom, listen, I know that you want to relive your childhood memories and all and that I should know more about the place I originated from and that I should have some experience of the countryside and I appreciate it but-"

"I am sorry, am I missing something? Since when do you deny our decisions?"

"....."

"Yeah, that's what I thought. NOW GO GET FRESH YOU HUMAN SLOTH."

I gaped at my mom while she was making lunch in the kitchen. My mother was in the kitchen making an omelet and keeping a check on the boiling tea. She is tall and has long black hair. She always has a strict and composed poker face, making her look kinda cool.  But she is kind of strict, so we fight a lot.

I was pretty much awake till 2:30 a.m., completing all of my online assignments and quizzes on my laptop. I fell asleep with the hope that I would do nothing on my Sunday. And then when I woke up in the afternoon, I heard my parents talking about various methods to ruin my vacation (that's in like, 3 weeks). And one of them was taking me to my mum's village.

Now, I was not opposed to this idea. I kinda like the countryside. I mean who doesn't like the smell of fresh cow dung? Everyone loves it, right? But the problem wasn't that I had no idea of what to do in a village, it was the fact that I wouldn't get any time to study. My school vacations aren't actual vacations, they are just some extra time to sit and study and then be taunted for not getting good grades despite having so much time.

Now, this was one of the saddest things I had heard for a while. If I studied in my mum's village, I would be scolded for not enjoying the place. If I didn't, I would be taunted for the rest of my life for not meeting their expectations. I couldn't even bring my books. Or my laptop. Or anything except for me and my clothes (and some other important stuff).

THIS WAS NOT HOW I WAS PLANNING TO SPEND MY SUNDAY OR MY VACATION.
