'Yes, I'd love to' Lucy held my hand as we walked over and leaned down to reach the bottles. Her black gown spilled over the grass, her dark attire contrasting sharply with the surrounding. She reminded me of Persephone. Queen of the Underworld and the Goddess of Spring at once.

'Rioja will get me tipsy quickly, Pino Noir seems too casual... But Montepulciano will pair nicely with that delicious Parma ham' I chuckled gently at her carefully calculated choice and gave her my hand to help her up as she got the bottle. We sat down at the table close to each other before I filled our glasses with blood-coloured liquid.

Pieces of puzzle began falling into place. I understood now why the Rosiers never introduced us, why her eyes glowed extraordinary yellow and perhaps even why she loved nature so much, an enthusiasm I shared with passion.

And all the times I found her at the edge of the forest early in the morning. Looking like a wild fae.

'I'm always impressed with your choice' I complemented her taste, earning a soft, sweet chuckle from her. She cocked her eyebrow as she took a sip and sighed happily.

'I missed you, Lucius. I missed us' My heart skipped a beat and I ran my fingertips across her cheek and jawline, taking in the feeling of her warm skin against mine.

'I was a fool, Lucy. Yet you did not give up on me' I noticed, curiously looking into her eyes. She chuckled and curved her lips up in a sexy manner.

'We share some characteristics, you see. Much like yourself, I also like to get what I want' I grinned widely and smirked back at her, overjoyed for her playful side coming back to light with me.

'I adore you' I said lovingly, and the glimmer of lust sparked in her eyes.

'And I, you' Her intense glance was so seductive I had to clear my throat.

'Lucy, you've been such a tease to me... I wanted to have you in my study that same night we met' I said passionately.

'You could have' She said firmly and twirled her black curl around her finger seductively. The blood in my veins rushed at the sight.

She sipped the crimson liquid with her equally crimson plump lips.

'Well, sweetheart... Tonight I will take much pleasure in making up for that mistake, if you'll have me ' My voice sounded husky. I had to take a sip to extinguish the flaming desire awaken by our conversation. Her cheeks flushed softly, and her gaze escaped to the glass in her hand. I was pleased with the effect my word had on her and I picked up the cutlery with a small smirk playing on my lips.

'Mistakes can be committed. And seeing them recovered would be indeed pleasant' Lucy cocked her eyebrow and I scoffed in awe.

We began feasting on the savoury platters, accompanied by rich in taste wine.

'You looked sad the other night... When Mina and I... well, broke into your office' Lucy looked at me apologetically and I put the cheese knife down, patting the corners of my lips with a napkin.

'If you want to tell me why, I'm here' she said compassionately. My first thought was to deny and it took a lot from me to be honest instead.

'Yes, well... I had received a letter from my ex-wife. She was important to me long time ago and from the sound of her letter, it appeared as if she hasn't moved on... Perhaps she regrets divorcing me by the sound of it' I took a sip and Lucy's gaze fell to the side, she looked startled, so I continued.

'I felt rather... Sentimental that night, if you will. Mostly because I realized, unlike Narcissa, I had moved on. I mean... I've come to terms with it shortly before I met you' I opened my palms towards Lucy, smiling softly.
