As Juliet was staring at the box in her hands, she felt completely numb. Her face did not seem to hold an ounce of emotion either.
That box held the object that was destroying her entirely, and it also represented two of her worse memories. She had found it on the day she buried her parents, and she buried on the day that started a week of pure hell.
She closed her eyes, refusing to let the memories make their way back up to her mind, then she put the box down on the table and sighed.
The centaurs ended up letting them go, as they were just kids, and the three did not waste another second before making their way back home in complete silence.
Well, home. Juliet felt weird, calling the Potter's Mansion home now. She felt estranged, as though she no longer belonged. And perhaps she didn't. The home had lost its warmth and hospitality, but it couldn't be blamed, it clearly had been under attack.
James had covered it with an invisible barrier, but it was temporary. Apparently Dumbledore was to relocate the entire house to another area. Juliet didn't know how he was going to move a whole house but she didn't really care either, she was just tired for the moment.
"So, what now?" Lily asked.
"I don't know." Juliet responded.
"You don't know?" James looked at her, his anger rising again. "What do you mean, you don't know? You left with the purpose to find this thing! Did you have no plan at all?!"
"Can we not start that again?" She sighed.
"No, Juliet! This is bigger than all of us, we can't fucking sit around and watch a fucking necklace like it's going to win us the war!" Her twin groaned, furiously kicking the table in front of her.
Nobody had expected her to flinch but she did, it was very slightly, and she tried to cover it up as her just fidgeting but they had all seen it. The sight of that alone allowed James to calm down, and swallow his resentment. It wasn't enough for him to forgive and comfort her.
"Let's just, see things on the bright side. We have one of the three now." Amos spoke up after the silence started to feel suffocating.
"That won't do much for us." Juliet whispered. "We don't know how to destroy it, and we still have two more to find."
"But, looking at the big picture, there's four on our side." Lily comforted.
Juliet pursed her lips, failing at her attempt to smile back at her friend, before she turned to her brother. "Did mum and dad tell you anything? Anything at all?"
"No! I don't know!" James exclaimed, frustratedly reaching for a bottle of alcohol and drinking from it. "I can't fucking remember."
"And you wonder why I left to find it on my own?"
