Ch 20 | Intoxicating

                                    

                                          
Author's POV:
"Quit bouncing your leg like that," Seokjin sighs. "It's not going to calm you down at all."
"Leave him alone," Jungkook chuckles before taking a sip of his iced americano. "He's got an important meeting coming up." 
"Well the bouncing is getting on my nerves," Jin grimaces. 
This of course starts a bickering session between the oldest and the youngest, but Jimin isn't paying any attention to them. 
They're all at your bakery to pass the time since they showed up two hours before the meeting time, and luckily Iseul was closing up right when they showed up. She snuck them in through the back so they could have privacy, and she even served them some coffee and pastries before leaving. 
Jimin asked her not to tell you they came early because they didn't want to rush you. 
Taehyung came as well but he went ahead inside to chat with Granny Soo-ah. Jimin's still scared of her so he chose to wait until the meeting time. 
The bickering between JinKook turns into a kiddie fight as they slap at each other's hands, but Jimin is totally off in another world. All he can think about his how badly he fucked things up with you yesterday. 
Getting to hold his daughter in his arms still feels like a dream to him, but he isn't able to be that happy about it knowing he hurt you again. He can't stop kicking himself for how he handled that conversation. 
If he could just be honest with you, then maybe you'd be able to trust him enough to give him a chance. But he can't. And you're not the type of person that will let something like this go.
Of course you wouldn't want to be with someone who hides things from you. If the roles were reversed, he'd probably be reacting the same way you are. 
But he really can't tell you why he didn't look for you. It'll mess everything up. And you'd figure out how much of a coward he is. 
"Is that... [Y/N]?" Jungkook asks, snapping him back to reality. The three of them watch through the window as you drag your kicking and screaming daughter through your front door, quickly slamming it closed behind you. 
"Oh yikes," Jin snorts, giving Jimin's shoulder a punch. "Maybe you don't want to be a dad yet."  
"God, I fucking suck," Jimin says shakily, tears brimming in his eyes as he stares at your closed door. "She's been dealing with these things all alone for years." 
"You'll make it up to her," JK smiles. "It's obvious she still loves you."
"She'll never take him back if he doesn't fess up," Seokjin shrugs, earning himself glares from both men. "What? Don't get mad at me when you're the one keeping secrets." 
"He's allowed to have secrets," Jungkook frowns. 
"He sure is," Jin smiles tightly. "And [Y/N] is allowed to decide she's uncomfortable with it." 
Jimin sinks in his seat, but that only irritates Jin more. "Did you commit murder or something?" he glares. "Is it seriously something so awful you won't even tell us?"
Jungkook wants to defend Jimin, but even he's a little upset by the situation. The members never hide anything from each other, no matter how awful or embarrassing the secret is. It's making them question the bond they all share, but Jimin still doesn't say anything. 
He's typically a people pleaser which is why this is so confusing to them. Whatever he's hiding must really be a big deal to him. 
Jin snubs his nose in the air and says, "You don't have to tell me, but I'm tired of pretending I give a damn each time [Y/N] turns you down. It's your fault at this point."
