It had been a little over a week since you and Yoongi had mated and he was just beginning to calm down. You were now able to be in a different room without him going crazy and letting his instincts take over.
Jin was back at the hospital, he claimed he was going crazy being in the house when he knew his patients were still hurting and not getting any better. He knew that with Yoongi being the way he is, that the house would be safe.
You had yet to hear anything from Red; no new letters or messages had shown up, neither at home nor the station. Hobi had been going back and forth, making sure his team was prepared for anything for when they ultimately had to protect the house.
You didn't know how to feel about anything. You knew that, by staying here with your mates, you were putting them in danger. You were risking their lives and safety because you finally felt at home. You felt love and peace, but at what expense?
"Hey, baby girl. What's on your mind?" You feel someone grasp your chin, tilting you head to face them. Namjoon looked down at you, his eyes inquisitive as he looks over your face for any signs of distress.
You had been cuddled up, watching movies as the rain continued to pour outside. Jimin was spending some time with Yoongi, while Hobi had taken Jungkook and Taehyung to the video game store for a new game that had just come out. Namjoon was adamant about you being in his arms, saying that it was the best way he could protect you from any harm.
"Just thinking..." You whisper, not exactly wanting to voice your thoughts, knowing how any of the boys would react. Namjoon could see past your words; he could see the worry and guilt floating across your vision as you looked at him.
"Baby...I know you think that you are bringing us all into danger..." Your eyes widen at his statement, wondering if he could actually read your mind.
"But we would do anything for you. You are our mate and we won't let him touch you." He brings you into his chest, your head resting in his neck. You breathe in the lavender, the comfort of home, of Areum, seeping from his scent gland.
Safety is something you aren't used to. It was a feeling you had gotten glimpse of when you were with Areum. With her, nothing could go wrong. She was your home. You imagine Areum meeting the boys, eyes narrowing as she stares them down, threating them for if they ever hurt you. You think she would get along well with Hobi. Their energies are evenly matched, and they are both extremely protective of their loved ones.
She would butt heads with Yoongi, most definitely. They are both stubborn in their own ways, and both think that what they are doing is the right thing; the only way to do something. You smile thinking about Areum and Yoongi in a room together.
Turning back to the movie, you and Namjoon sit in comfortable silence. Namjoon drawing different shapes into the skin on your hip, his warm grip bringing you much needed comfort. You liked that you didn't have to talk with Namjoon, the silence never felt uncomfortable or awkward. You could just enjoy and appreciate his presence, just like with Yoongi.
You felt so safe that you didn't even flinch when the door to Namjoon's room opened, Jin walking in with a letter in his hands, his face pale and eyes wide as he rushes over to the bed.
"Where is Hobi?" He blurts out, frantically as he looks you over, his hands moving over your body as he moves your shirt.
"Jin, what happened?" Namjoon's voice is calm, knowing the last thing everyone needed was for him to be panicking. Jin just handed Namjoon the opened letter, his own eyes never leaving yours.
Opening the letter, you watch as Namjoon's eyes widen, moving fast as he reads and rereads the words on the page. His hands clench around the letter, his scent turning burnt as he throws the letter onto the bed.
