"....Hello. My name is Mongoose Hokubo...."
Hokubo was a tall girl with red hair and the head of a snake, her eyes the same gold color as Zeha's.
This is Zeha's kid?
Touya raised an eyebrow, having a hard time picturing this quiet, shy girl as Zeha's child. The same Zeha that sent him to a death match when he was sixteen because that was just the asshole he was.
Maybe he stole her or something...
He shook his head as Asui and Shoto gave each other a nod, both immediately sympathizing with the girl's hesitancy to talk.
Asui approached the shy girl first, "Hello. I'm Asui, call me Tsu, ribbit."
Asui froze as the girl lifted her head, going limp as they made eye contact.
"I'm so sorry! I don't have a good handle on my quirk yet!"
The girl shut her eyes and curled into a ball, flustered beyond recognition for what she did.
Asui have a hum as Shoto helped her up, "It's okay, ribbit."
She got a hold of her limbs quickly and turned to the trembling girl, crouching next to her as she said, "Don't worry. I know it was an accident, ribbit."
Hokubo peeked her eyes open, making sure to keep them on the floor as she spoke, "...sorry. My quirk paralyzes people when they look into my eyes. It lasts three seconds and I can't turn it off..."
Shoto and Asui looked at each other, "That's okay. We'll help you get better with it."
Hokubo looked up at them, tears of gratitude in her eyes immediately turning to grief as she accidentally froze them.
"I'm so sorry!"
Touya had to bite back a laugh as the three of them got acquainted with each other, finding it hilarious that the three socially inept teens just didn't know how to talk to each other.
Seriously? Shoto's like a magnet for people on his wavelength huh?
He shook his head, cutting into their introductions, "You three can talk later. We'll do the same thing as yesterday."
He took pride in the three different reactions he got, Shoto shrugged in acceptance, Asui flinched in fear, and Hokubo just looked at them confused.
This isn't that bad huh...
Touya gave himself a pat on the back as they took off toward the middle school, Hokubo trailing behind but not completely left in the dust.
I'm a pretty good teacher.
.........
Hokubo didn't know what she was expecting when her dad told her that a colleague of his could train her on how to fight.
She was excited to learn how to fight, her dad had made sure she was in good shape, but she hadn't been taught any tricks about fighting or anything like that.
Her dad always said that he would find her the best teacher when it got closer to high school, and now she knew it was the scarred man with piercings that Sho said was his brother.
He immediately followed up that comment by saying he wasn't scary...
Sho's such a liar.
"Not bad... Looks like Zeha isn't a total shithead after all."
She lay panting on the ground, shivering as Dabi looked at her without any sympathy.
Not scary my butt.
