Its Wednesday, 
Which means Nathan is coming to officially meet my parents, and abuela. 
I'm even nervous, for him 
Not that my family will murder him, but the moment they start to like him.

I mean Deedee would literally drown him with questions, 
My uncles would try and play big and strong,

Nathan should be coming in an hour or something, 
Abuela is in the kitchen making her usual feast, 
Mom is cleaning the house, 
Dad is probably practicing his 'deep' voice again. 
I'm just getting ready, 
I picked out a pair of navy sweatpants. They're loose even at the ankles. 
Ugh, I hate when pants are tight around the ankles,

I walk into my bathroom, 
I want a dog,

I have no clue where a dog came from but I kinda want one. 
"No" dad shouts back in his deep voice,

"Jesus, Chris stop making your voice deep" mom laughs

"Lily if I murder you dad will you help hiding the body" abuela shouts from the kitchen. 
Lord, this is a lot of shouting 
"Why" I ask, not shouting 
"You dad bought cinnamon sugar instead of cinnamon and sugar for the churros" abuela answers 
"What is the difference" dad asks 
I walk out of my room, I can see my family better now 
Dad has his hands in the air and abuela has hers crossed over her chest. 
"It tastes better when abuela mixes it," I say shrugging 
"Lily, you're my daughter you're supposed to be on my side" dad says rolling his eyes 
"Keep doing that, one day you'll find a brain in there" abuela laughs, 
"What does that mean" dad pulls his eyebrows together
Mom and I bursts into laughter 
"Why'd you marry this one again" abuela turns to mom 
Mom tries to speak but she can't, she's still laughing. 
She wipes away her tears before beginning to laugh again.
