Somethings Dont Change: Udo x Zofia (part 2)

                                    

                                          
Udo chuckled nervously.
"Wh-what are you talking about?" He stammered, trying to hide his research. 
"You're too smart to play dumb Udo, I was there. All of the world was watching, you even spilled wine on the ambassador from the East."
Udo's jaw dropped.
"Want more proof? Before Lord Tybur's speech, Porco and Pieck were called away by a solider, you whispered to me that the solider looked suspicious, before we found out about Bertholdt, you were set to inherit the Colossal Titan"
Udo was speechless.
"So can I sit and you fill me in?"
Udo nodded.
"So...was I shot, eaten, fell off a cliff?"
Udo took a deep breath, the vision of Zofia's broken legs sticking out of the boulder flashed through his mind. 
"So as Mr. Tybur made his declaration of war against the island devils, there was an explosion. I thought it was a bomb at first but there stood the Attack Titan, and falling into his mouth was Tybur" 
Zofia took a carrot stick out of Udo's lunch container. "I remember Mr. Tybur's speech and the blast, but after that...I blacked out. Woke up in my bed, but I felt like a crushing weight was on me. I didn't come to school that day". 
"You were crushed, by a piece of debris."
"How bad was it, did my parents see it?" Zofia said taking a bite of the vegetable.
"It was dark, but I could see your legs stick out, one of them was broken. I-I don't know what happened to your parents." Udo looked down at the table. 
"So based on the evidence I have, I can hypothesize that you also died that night but after I did."
Udo raised an eyebrow. 
"Look you aren't the only budding scientist in this school, so what happened to you? Was your death as smashing as mine" she asked giggling at her own joke. 
Udo couldn't help but let out a small laugh. They may be in a different life or a different universe, but Zofia's wit was still the same.
"Well as soon as I realized that it was you under there I tried to push the rock off. Tried to get people to help, but soon the crowd overwhelmed me and I, I think I was trampled to death" 
Zofia's eyes started to fill with tears. "You died...trying to save me, even though I was beyond saving".
"That's what you do for people you care about"
"I really cared about you too Udo, back then. And I...I care about you now" Zofia said placing her hand over Udo's. 
Udo felt his face grow a bit red. "Zofia this may be a odd time but-"
"You know you aren't supposed to have food in here"
Udo jumped, but relaxed when he realized that he hadn't been caught by the librarian, just a classmate.
"Geez Martin you can't scare me like that"
"On a lunch date I see?" Martin said looking at Zofia and Udo. 
Both of them turned pink. 
Martian scanned the table. Looking at Udo's research he frowned a bit. He picked up a sheet of Udo's notes. 
"Hey that's private dude" Udo said reaching for the paper. 
Martian stepped out of reach, his eyes scanning the paper.
