(Lucy's POV)
Comet was a really furry dog that never shed. But he does like to lick people's feet when they have no socks on so all day and all night I wear socks so he doesn't lick mine. George is the one to get his feet licked all the time because he never wears socks to cover those nasty, stinky feet.
"He licks so gently," George said one day.
"That's a little gross, George," Lockwood said while reading a magazine on the couch.
"Finally, some one else thinks it's gross that Comet licks George's feet," I said with a giggle as I'm carefully drawing Lockwood sitting on the couch.
We sat there for four hours just reading and drawing with nothing to do. Soon Lockwood realized that I kept looking up at him and came over to see what I was doing. 'Well that's too bad Lockwood,' I thought. 'You are not going to see anything. I quickly got up and ran across the room. "What're you doing, Lockwood?" I asked even though I knew what he was doing.
"I want to see what you were drawing," he said, stepping closer to me but I tried to keep as far away as possible from him.
"Well," I said in a teasing way. "That's too bad 'cause you're not going to.
"Oh... let's see about that," he said, starting to chase me. I ran everywhere; but I could not get him off my tail. We went downstairs and upstairs. Man, I couldn't tell you how hard it was to do. Once I was ahead of him I hid behind the couch to catch my breath. When my heart beat was almost slowed down to its natural pace, Lockwood had found me. I tried to run and he wrapped his arms around my stomach. My back was facing him as he started to tickle me. I was kicking and laughing at the same time. Lockwood, however, seems to be having fun with all of this. But I have to say I was having fun too. He finally got my notebook from me and held it up in the air so I wouldn't be able to retrieve it from his hands.
Finally, I gave in and let him see what I was drawing. I flipped to the last page I was drawing on and showed Lockwood that I was drawing him.
"Wow, lucy. These are really good," I started to blush a little.
"Not really. I had trouble drawing your eyes. And I've seen way better," I said trying not to look at his eyes.
"Don't be so modest," he said. "This is amazing." I felt my checks grow bright red when he said that.
(George's POV)
When they started running around the house everything just kicked into place. 'Oh my goodness, Lucy likes Lockwood. And even worse Lockwood likes her back.' This was on the list as total danger. What if they get together and then get in a fight? They will destroy this entire company. This is up to paper man to fix it. Aw man, Lucy will you please stop blushing.
(Lockwood's POV)
I was having so much fun with her as I tickled her until she let loose of the book so I could grab it and go. But when she was trying to reach for it out of my hands I was almost about to kiss her. She was so close to me I could've just grabbed her waist, pulled her in and kissed her. We sat next to each other on the couch so she could show me what she was drawing. And to my surprise it was me sitting on the couch reading a magazine. But when I said the drawing was good I could literally hear his eyes roll.
(Lucy's POV)
While I was showing Lockwood, Comet started barking and running to the door. A few seconds later there was a knock at the door.
"I get it. Oh and Lucy after I do will you come talk to me for a minute," George said a little too weird. I didn't respond, but George walked away like I didn't have a choice but to say yes to his question.
George opened the door to a tall skinny, bald man in his mid-fifties. "Can I help you?" George asked in his most nicest voice he has.
"Yes," said the man. "Can you let me speak to Mr. Lockwood?" George let him in and sat him on the couch across from Lockwood. Me and George got some tea and cookies for them while they talked. On the other hand, I was stuck with George in the kitchen until the meeting was over.
"So, what do you need to talk about George?" I asked, confused that he wanted to talk to me alone. And to be honest a little scared because if he wants to ask me out it will be a straight 'NO!'
"I know you like Lockwood," he said quickly.
"Well, of course I like him. He's one of my best friends and I have like two of them," I said a little mad that I didn't like him before.
"I mean more than a friend," he said, very calm, very slow and very precise, but I didn't know that I liked Lockwood. When I thought about it for a second I realized that I might have a small crush on him. A crush that was not meant to be.
"I don't know what you're thinking, but he's our boss. And even if Idid like him there is no way, I repeat, no way me and him can be together," I said in a madish, sadish voice that is really quiet so Lockwood wouldn't hear a thing I was saying.
