that one comment made heads turn to me quickly.
"why is that?" luke asked tentatively.
"i don't know any of you and i guess i just don't want too." i muttered as i plugged headphones into my phone and began to listen to music.
i really didn't want to be here.
we arrived at a fancy house and even i had to admit it was huge.
i grabbed my luggage from the back and followed ashton upstairs to a room.
"thank you." i mumbled.
"no problem." he smiled softly as he slowly left the room.
i shut the door and began to unpack all of my belongings.
i pulled out my secret stash of cigarettes and put them behind my pillow.
mom didn't even know i smoked, but she would have a heart attack if she found out.
i walked over to the bathroom and quickly put all of my toiletries away and sat on the bed.
at least the room had a window that led to a section of the roof i could sit on to smoke so that the smell wouldn't be in the room.
i walked downstairs and saw the boys sitting at the table.
"sorry, did i keep you from something?" i asked softly.
"no not at all, i just wanted to go over a couple ground rules." ashton spoke with a tiny smile.
great. rules. i nodded and sat down on the chair across from them.
"first i want to say that you can come to us if you ever need anything. we are here for you and all of our doors are open if you need to chat." ashton stated.
i nodded.
"first rule, please don't sneak out. not only is it really dangerous at night, but you could get lost. second rule, no inviting random people that i don't know over to the house. of course you can have friends over, i just want to be aware of who they are. that's it." ashton spoke with a tiny smile.
i nodded and got up from the table.
"do you want dinner?" ashton asked.
"nope. i'm okay. thank you." i replied as i ran upstairs into my room.
to be completely honest, cigarettes suppressed my appetite. nerves also did.
i didn't know what was going to happen here.
i was a fairly skinny person because i didn't eat a lot. i never felt like eating was a necessary part of my life. i only ate to survive.
most of my weight comes from cigarettes, gum, and energy drinks.
i didn't have an eating disorder, but i just didn't care to eat. i was also extremely picky with what i ate.
i didn't eat any meat or seafood. ate a few fruits and a few veggies.
i heard a soft knock on my door and i got up and opened it to see ashton standing there.
"are you sure you don't want anything?" he asked again.
"i'm a pretty picky eater. i don't know if mom told you. i usually only eat once a day." i shrugged softly.
"define picky eater." he spoke as he leaned against the doorframe.
"i don't eat any meat or seafood. i eat some fruits and veggies. i don't like pasta and rice is okay." i spoke swiftly.
"so you eat like a rabbit?" ashton concluded.
"um, i guess you could say that." i smiled softly.
"have you ever tried any of the other food groups?" he asked.
"nope. mom said it didn't matter. she said as long as i am able to function. what i eat and how much i eat doesn't really matter." i replied.
"interesting philosophy." ashton chuckled as he stood up straight.
"i was just wondering before we ordered in." he spoke.
"yep i'm good thank you though." i replied.
before i could shut my door ashton stopped me.
"we'll work on that while you're here. baby steps."
