kuina hikari x ann rizuna

Start from the beginning

"And... I-I just stood there, away from them. But it was weird, Y/N, I felt shitty." She chuckled sarcastically to herself, as if she found her own words ridiculous to even understand. "I don't know, I think I'm going crazy."

The girl from the other line was silent for a moment, and Kuina knew that Y/N was still in the midst of processing what she just told the female. She patiently waited for Chishiya's girlfriend to answer, sitting properly at the edge of her bed as she swung her feet to distract herself.

"Have you ever asked yourself whether you genuinely like Ann or not?"

Choking on her own saliva, Kuina coughed, patting her chest lightly to ease the sudden surprise.

"She's just a friend."

"And Chishiya's a romantic man." "Hey."

"I haven't. Because why would I? We're just friends, really. I doubt she even likes girls."

"Did she directly told you that?"

Kuina went silent, "No... not really."

"Then it can be possible, Hikari. You should really try your best not to conclude things in an instant. Unless it comes from Ann's mouth, ease yourself." The female gently explained. "Doesn't this all seem familiar to you? The friends thing-y being an excuse to avoid admitting the romantic feelings?"

Kuina's brows furrowed upon the female's question, trying to familiarize what should be remembered. Then it hit her. Y/N and Chishiya experienced the exact same thing. The only difference is that they're the opposite gender, however, the problem was identical to the two lovers' past conflict.

"Hikari, I know this is easier said than done, but try giving yourself some time to comprehend your feelings. It won't hurt trying to understand yourself even more. No matter what happens, I'll be with you. No matter what your choices will be, I'll be with you. No matter what, I'm always gonna be here."

Such heartwarming words make Kuina feel emotional. She badly wanted to see Y/N right now to give her a hug, but sadly, Chishiya's place was far away from her. And so she just expressed her gratitude through words, even though she knows to herself that words aren't enough to thank the female.

"You really know just what to say." Kuina smiled, chuckling softly. "Thank you, Y/N."

"Anytime!" The girl chirped. "Make sure to talk to her once you figure things out. I know you can do it."

"I promise, I will."

With a contented sigh, Kuina laid back on her bed, closing her eyes shut for the remaining hour. Unbeknownst to her, she fell asleep.

By the time she woke up from her deep slumber, she heard a faint sound of something tapping against a keyboard. Adjusting her sight, her orbs widened in surprise when she saw Ann sitting on her small study table, laptop placed atop as she swiftly typed in words.

"How did you get here?"

Ann grabbed a single key from beside the laptop, lifting it up for Kuina to see.

"When did you get here?"

"I just got here."

Pursing her lips into a thin line, Kuina debated whether to ask Ann about the guy or to just shut up and leave the woman to work alone.

"I saw you earlier at the coffee shop."

The girl froze, eyes blinking numerous times before glancing at the short haired woman who just continued typing.

"Oh, you did? Funny, I didn't see you." Kuina chuckled, currently thinking of an excuse to say. "I was about to buy myself some coffee, but then I suddenly craved for something else."

"Hm," Ann hummed, closing the laptop before rubbing her shoulder. "Is that right?"

"W-What about you? What are you doing there?" Quickly avoiding her gaze, Kuina pretended to fix her pillows.

"I had a lunch meeting with my coworkers."

"Coworkers? But I only saw one guy with you."

Ann smirked upon catching Kuina. Crossing her arms against her chest, she eyed the dreadlock haired who seemed to have been glued right on the spot. Kuina felt so little as she slowly turned to meet Ann's teasing gaze.

"Caught you." Ann leaned closer. "Don't worry, he's a colleague of mine back at college. Right after you left, his fianceé came. They invited me to their wedding."

Kuina mentally smacked herself for jumping to conclusions. Y/N was right, unless it comes from Ann's mouth, she should save the conclusions for later.

"I-I see." Was the only reply that left Kuina's mouth. "So you don't like him."

"I don't." Ann immediately stated, face quite serious. "I like someone else."

There goes the pain again. Wincing secretly, Kuina wanted so badly to swallow the question that has been dying to escape her mouth. But alas, she wasn't able to.

"Who do you like then?"

Silence filled the room, no one dared to talk, both just staring into each other's eyes. Ann promptly made her way right infron of the girl, grabbing her chin gently before looking down at her lips.

"Telling you... would ruin our friendship."

Knowing exactly what the woman meant by that, Kuina felt all the worries and pain drift away from her body all at once.

"Trust me, it won't."

Ann smiled at her words, slowly leaning in. Kuina's eyes closed as she awaited the girl's lips against her very own. When their lips collided, it was as if nothing else mattered but them. They were savoring each other's taste, basking in with the other's presence.

Lips moving in sync, no one dared to pull back, even deepening the kiss as if they'd die if they stop.

Kuina instantly felt like heaven, and Ann felt the same. Being able to come out and confess made them feel at ease.

The dreadlock smiled against the kiss, cupping the woman's cheeks. Leaving the kissing detail, Y/N would surely be hearing about everything tomorrow.
