"We're just friends."
That's what they would usually tell the others whenever they are asked if they are together or not. At first, Kuina was fine with it, agreeing with Ann and brushing it off with a laugh. However, things started to change when the dreadlock haired saw the woman with a guy she never met before.
The sensation was new to Kuina as she gripped on her chest tightly, biting her lip as she felt the unfamiliar feeling of getting stabbed through the chest by something invisible. It was agonizing, getting worse and worse the more she stood and stared from afar. Her legs slightly shook at the sight, it took her a few moments to gather herself before starting to walk away with a heavy heart. A part of her wished that Ann was able to see her from her previous position earlier, and that the woman would leave the guy and go after her. But the disappointment emerged from within when she was already halfway through her house, and no Ann came to stop her.
Kuina felt her legs weakening as she tried her best to steady her breathing. Was she being jealous that Ann was being friends with a guy? Or was she feeling something a normal friend couldn't possibly feel?
All the contemplation confused her even more. She just wanted to sulk in her bed. But why was she going to sulk? Shouldn't she be happy? Ann seemed to like the guy. She knows the woman more than anyone in this world, and Kuina knows for sure that Ann never liked men in the first place, so seeing her being comfortable with the guy, Kuina just came to the conclusion that he must be someone special.
Groaning, the dreadlock haired fished out her phone, calling the other person she thinks she could help with her problem as of the moment.
"Hello?" The female answered from the other side of the phone.
"Y/N, hey," Kuina smiled even though the girl won't even see that smile of hers. "Are you busy?"
"Uhm, nope! Not really— We are busy." Kuina heard the faint voice of a familiar guy, making her roll her eyes.
"Hello to you too, Chishiya."
"Sorry about that, Hikari, we're actually studying at his place right now. My exams are coming next week. But I'm done now, what's the matter, anyways?" Hearing the girl explain her side, Kuina couldn't help but feel bad for a moment. With Y/N and Shuntaro being medical students, they're really glued together, studying whenever they can, just like now.
"I'm sorry, Chishiya must've wanted to spend time with you, but here I am... wanna ask for an advice." Voice as soft as ever, Kuina laid on her bed, eyes staring at the ceiling.
"I always spend time with him, I'm sure he won't mind if I spend some time with my friend." Kuina smiled at that. "I mind it a lot." The smile faltered just as quick. "Hold on a second, Hikari."
Kuina heard Y/N scolding her boyfriend before sighing, "I just can't with this man."
"It's cool. It's Chishiya Shuntaro we're talking about." The dreadlock haired smiled to no one.
"An advice, you said, about what?" Y/N questioned from the other line.
"Just... life, I guess?"
"Huh," Y/N went silent for a minute. "It's about Ann, isn't it?"
Eyes widening, Kuina sat up straight, stammering. "W-What? How did you—"
Giggling from the other line, Y/N responded once again. "I just know it. Mind sharing the matter so I can give my insights?" "Please make it quick." "Shut up, Shuntaro."
"Well," Still hesitant, the female rubbed the back of her head. "I saw her a while ago... with a man."
"I see, please continue."
