Maia shrugged, turning so she faced the sky above. "Suit yourself. Anlithamy has nothing to offer me. I hate it there."

Andorra sat up carefully, watching the other person. The air around them felt balmy and a little too warm. When Andorra looked down at her hands, she saw the ring was gone, bare from her finger. She curled her fingers into a fist, and took a deep breath.

Nohx was waiting for her. Oberon was waiting for her. Her friends were waiting for her.

Andorra stood, shaking her head, clearing her mind, and then she strode forward. Fear felt slimy in her gut, and it threatened to cut off airflow, but Andorra didn't stop. She shook out her hands, took a few deep breaths, and sped up.

Before she could get close enough to take the figure in front of her, they turned, catching her off guard. And they stopped yelling, long enough to smile at Andorra in a way that made the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end.

The figure was an exact replica of her. And they were grinning with such a blank expression that it looked eerie and misplaced. The fear in her gut multiplied as she came to a stop, staring at herself.

At the Rabium Bellua.

"You're awake."

"You've been causing a lot of problems." Andorra couldn't let the fear take over. She had a feeling this version in front of her, existing in her own mind, could understand her emotions. Could read them on her face.

The air felt thick around Andorra, and she noted with a sense of discomfort that it was growing hot. Too hot. She felt a bead of sweat run down her temple. The entire experience felt off, and she knew it. Knew something was wrong. In her ears began a high-pitched ringing that was annoying, but not debilitating, so she tried to ignore it.

"Little Maia over there didn't want to play with the flayre any longer, so I let it out. Would you like to play with it for a bit?" The Rabium Bellua's grin stretched across their face, almost too wide to be natural. It made Andorra's heartbeat quicken, and her face threatened to give away the fear she felt coiled in her gut, but she didn't say anything. Tried to channel Nohx's stoic face.

"What are you?" Andorra's voice shook slightly, but how could it not? She was terrified beyond belief. Another bead of sweat dropped down her forehead, running down her cheek. She wanted to wipe it away, but was too terrified to do so.

The Rabium Bellua shifted then, its face and body flickering until it landed on Maia's features. Another grin, this time far too large for Maia's face. The teeth were sharp. Then, the face flickered again, shadows passing beneath the flesh, and it settled on someone else. Someone Andorra didn't know. It was a girl with coiled chestnut hair, large eyes the color of gold, and an innocent expression splayed across her features. The girl was young - years younger than Andorra.

"I am the monster they made me become!" A flash of pointed teeth behind a child's smile. "The flayre has ruined every body it inhabits. Every reincarnation of this soul will know what it's like to feel the anger behind the monster."

Andorra's heart was beating far too fast. She didn't know how to slow it down. "Whose face do you wear now?"

Another sharp grin, and then the face changed again, reflecting Andorra's face back. "A foretold face. A face for the next victim. I showed Maia your face as well, centuries before your birth. The cycle will continue."

Andorra didn't feel very confident as she said, "There will be no more cycle. It stops here."

"You know what is interesting," the Rabium Bellua began to slowly circle her, like a predator stalking its prey. "You are a Princess in this life, yet the Prince in Maia's life denied their soulmate bond. And you will do the same."
