--Jaiveer--
After the torturous photo sessions and God knows whatever the hell the remaining things are I finally decided to walk away but no… looks like my darling parents have some other plans.
"Take her with you and give a tour of the house, Jai." My Maa said all of a sudden and I glared at her. Ignoring me she again insisted.
"I can't Maa. I have work. If we're done here, I'll leave." I said gritting my teeth. Enough of drama for one day. Already my patience levels have run out and I don't know what I will do if I stay here for one more second.
"Haven't I told you to take a day off today?" My Papa asked very seriously and for a moment I felt like I was a 5 year old kid.
"It's ok, Raghu. Work is important. And there aren't any rituals pending. So let him go." Mr. Prakash Deshmukh said.
I used to admire this man but now I started to loathe him. Never ever have I thought of him as a cunning businessman who is even capable of finding a suitable groom for his daughter in the guise of a business deal.
Leaving everyone in the living room and controlling myself as best as I could I climbed the stairs to escape into my room. But before reaching my room I found Ananya, in the lobby playing with a baby boy, who might be around 2 years old. They both were seated on the floor covered with a rug and many sorts of toys were spread around them. Jumping up and down the boy is playing happily with Ananya.
Who is he? I haven't seen him before. Moreover none of our relatives were invited today. Then who might he be? And also I don't know that we have these many toys in our home.
"Who is he?" I asked, approaching her.
Her head snapped up towards me and her eyes went wide. Had I asked anything wrong?
"Don't you know?" She asked me in return and I shook my head.
"He is.." Her words were cut off by my mother's voice.
"Ananya, bring Adiraj down. They are leaving." Maa shouted from downstairs.
"One minute Maa." Ananya replied.
"I said now!" Maa shouted this time.
"Wait here." Saying that Ananya picked up the kid. I stared at her retreating figure and that kid, who was in Ananya's arms, turned around and waved at me. Chuckling at the cute bundle, I too raised my hand and waved back at him.
Then I went into my room. Shrugging off my jacket, I fell on my bed and kept staring at the ceiling, trying to focus on something. But I couldn't understand what I should focus on.
Should I focus on the fact that I just got engaged with a stranger?
Should I focus on the fact that my own parents arranged a business deal cum marriage for me?
Or should I focus on finding the solutions to break this?
I don't know. My mind feels like it's going to explode anytime soon.
Suddenly my room door barged open and someone entered. I don't even want to look at them.
"Bhai(Brother)!!!" Ananya called me but I ignored her. I don't have any more energy left within me to deal with anyone.
"Don't you know who Adiraj is?" She asked. Scowling, I raised up on my elbows to look at her.
"Whom you're talking about?" I asked her.
"Adiraj. The kid I was playing with."
"Who is he?"
"He is Advika's son."
