Of course, after it happened, he got a stern talking to from Ben, the older player, reprimanding Mason for his actions, knowing he was wrong. After Mason finished his morning routine, he walked across the hall, hoping the girl was awake.
He knocked on her bedroom door, pressing his ear to the door to see if he could hear her shuffling around. After a minute of waiting, he tried again.
Hearing nothing from the other side of the door once again, he figured that she wasn't there. Mason made his way down the stairs and walked to the kitchen, ready to make something to eat and hoping to find Y/N in the kitchen. He only had a few hours before the car would be here to pick him up and carry him to St. George's Park, officially beginning his international duty for the World Cup.
As he entered the kitchen, he was greeted by the sweet aroma of freshly brewed coffee. He couldn't help but smile as he realized Y/N must have woken up early and made coffee for him. It was a nice gesture, considering the girl didn't even drink coffee. He looked around the kitchen, searching for a note or any indication of where she might be, but there was nothing.
Mason sighed and decided to start his breakfast. He put some bread in the toaster and cracked a couple of eggs into a frying pan. As he cooked, he couldn't help but replay the events of the previous night in his head. He was filled with regret over the way he spoke to Y/N, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he had hurt her.
Just as he was about to sit down and enjoy his breakfast, he heard the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs. He turned around to see Y/N, dressed in a comfortable sweatshirt and sweatpants, walking into the kitchen. She looked beautiful, even with her hair slightly damp, he heard the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs. She must have been in the shower, hence why she didn't hear the knocks on the door.
"Good morning, Mason," she said, a small smile playing on her lips. Y/N's face was void of any indication that she was upset by Mason's outburst from yesterday, which slightly confused him.
