"So what's the big news?" Mother asks. I run my fingers through my hair and pause. Deciding to get it over with, "I'm getting married." Instead of hearing gasps of horror, I hear shrieks of joy. Margaret and mother are hugging each other in glee, and then suddenly stop.
"Why haven't we been introduced? Why haven't you told me sooner? What does she look like?" Mother and Margaret go back and forth, really freaking me out. I sigh deeply, "I never told either of you because I didn't want Alice to think I was abandoning her. I was the closest one to her. I wanted to be sure she was okay with it." Mother sighs softly and looks at me smiling, "I understand. Now my dashing son, tell me about her."
I sigh deeply with a lovesick grin on my face and Margaret giggles, "He's smitten already!" I blush, "I was in Spain visiting an old friend of mine, and I bumped into her while traveling through Paris. She's very beautiful, smart, and caring. After months of exchanging letters, I met up with her and asked her to marry me. Besides, keeping her a secret from all of you for so long, I decided that we would have the wedding and I would bring all of you to her homeland. Mother, I love her and I know you don't know her, but that won't stop me.
Mother giggles, "What does she look like?" I grin and grab her hands, "She has beautiful brown eyes and snow-white hair, a beautiful smile, and brains that rival any genius that we've heard of."
Margaret shrieks happily at mother, "When is the wedding?!" I grin, "As soon as I bring you three to her." Mother looks confused, yet happy, "That seems too soon, but I trust you, my son."
I grin as Alice walks up to us, smiling, "I see you've told them. Now, all we have to do is get you two in a carriage, blindfold you for the surprise of the scenery and then we can witness a wedding." Margaret and mother look at me confused, "Blindfold? Why?" I nod, "I wish to make the view as much a surprise as it was for Alice to you guys." "Alice has met her!? What's her name!" Margaret yells. "Mirana," I sigh and grin.
Mother giggles and smiles, "Alright Ari, surprise us."
Alice and I grin at each other and lead our mother and sister to the carriage, nodding to McTwisp, who was hiding behind a bush. Alice gets up to the driver's seat and snaps the whips, ushering the horses to follow the white rabbit in a waistcoat, so Nivans McTwisp can lead us to Underland.
And so Mother and Margaret don't think we are insane and see a rabbit hole.
