The day was now over and both Gibbs and Jack were a hell of a lot more exhausted than before. Gibbs was bending over backwards to try to find who murdered Kelly's parents and Jack was fighting a migraine, the thoughts, getting the profiles done on time and hiding all of her stress from the little one in her office.
Jack sighs and closes her laptop. She had just finished all of the profiles and sent them to each of the teams. She looks up at Kelly and smiles. "What are you doing?" she asks the girl.
"I'm drawing. You wanna see?" Kelly asks energetically. Jack was amazed at how much energy that girl had after all she'd been through that day. "Sure!" Jack says, smiling.
The girl hands the paper to Jack and runs around to the other side of the desk. "I tried to draw the elephant," Kelly says, smiling. "What elephant?" Jack asks and watches as Kelly turns around and points to the wall behind them.
Jack turns around and looks up. "Oh, yeah. It looks just like that one!" she says. Kelly clearly had a talent for art and drawing. Her picture looked really good.
Jack hands the paper back to Kelly and the girl sets it down on the other side of the desk. "You wanna play dolls with me?" Kelly asks Jack. "Sure!" Jack says, following the girl to the couch. They both sit down and Kelly picks up two dolls. "You can have this one. Her name is Daisy," she says and hands the doll to Jack.
Gibbs walks out of the elevator. He and the team had just caught the murderer and he was now behind bars. Gibbs walks straight past the bullpen and up to Jack's office, wondering how her day had gone. He is just about to knock when he sees his wife and the little girl on the couch, playing with dolls. He smiles and watches Jack. She makes a different voice, making Kelly laugh.
She was so good with kids and the two had talked about having kids a lot. Gibbs knew that Jack would be a good mother. She was so caring and patient. Seeing Jack and Kelly get along made him fall in love with his wife all over again.
