That was a week and a half ago. Jack was released from the hospital four days after and she was able to return to work four days after that. Jack and Gibbs attended therapy together and had been doing quite well with their mental health.
Today is Christmas Eve and the team was over for a Christmas party. They were all in the living room talking, laughing and drinking wine. They all were having a wonderful time.
Jack looks over at Gibbs. "I've got an idea," she says. "And what is that?" he asks her. "What if we get married tomorrow?" she says. "Oh my gosh, yes!" Ellie says, excitedly.
"Are you sure?" he asks. "Yes," she says, smiling. "If that's what you want, then yes," he says, smiling at her. He couldn't help it, her smile was contagious. "Wooo!" They all cheer.
"Will you be my maid of honor, Ellie?" Jack asks. "Yes, of course! I'm so excited," she replies, smiling. "Vance, you wanna be my best man?" Gibbs asks. "Yeah," he says.
"Ziva and Kasie, you guys can be bridesmaids," Jack says. "Hell yeah!" Ziva says. "Nick and Tony, you can be my groomsmen," Gibbs says. "Oh, yeah, boss," Tony says, cheering.
"Well, we should probably all get some rest if we wanna pull this off tomorrow," Jack says. "Alright but Jack, you have to come with us," Ellie says, motioning to herself, Ziva, and Kasie. "Why?" Gibbs asks. "Because the groom can't see his bride on her wedding day!" Ellie and Jack speak at the same time. "Oh, yeah. That's right," Gibbs says, chuckling.
"Okay, you guys wait in the car and I'll grab my things," Jack says as she opens the front door for both the guys and the girls. Once they all dissipate, she closes the door and looks over at her soon-to-be-husband. "So, are you sure about this, Cowboy?" she asks. "Yes. As long as you're happy, I'm happy," he says and smiles.
His smile is also contagious and she starts to smile. They stare at each other and they're in their own little world. "But you better not steal my thunder, again," Gibbs says, breaking the silence, as now they are laughing. "Oh, I love you so much, Cowboy," she says, walking up to him. "And I love you, too," he says and leans in to kiss her.
