A little while, my ass, Lana thought.
They finally made it to the city. Why it was called Sunset City, Lana didn't know. There were people walking everywhere.
She hoped this city came complete with apartments that were cheap.
She had to come out of her hiding last year to get a job just to save up for this move. She looked around to her left and to her right. Trying to see something, a hospital she hoped. This was a big city though. So it was going to take a while.
That meant more driving. Lana just wanted to jump out of the car and leave Nancy to die. She wanted to find an apartment close to the beach and just relax. She didn't know what to expect out of this new town.
She drove for what seemed like another forty five minutes. She ultimately found the hospital and smiled hugely when she saw the enormous building. That meant no more Nancy.
She was going to throw her in the ER and run away. Lana drove up to the ER parking lot and parked.
"Bye Nance, see ya never," Lana said. She just looked at Nancy. Nancy just sat there. Lana waited for Nancy to get out. She didn't get out. Lana opened her car door. She got out and walked over to Nancy's side. She opened the door and motioned for Nancy to get out. She didn't budge.
"How old are you Nancy? Just get out and go into the freaking ER. Get that nose fixed for Christ's sake," Lana said.
"Fine, I will," Nancy mumbled. She stood up and walked away from Lana.
She slammed the door back and walked over to the driver's side. She noticed there was a slip of paper on the ground outside the door. She bent down and picked it up. She examined it and noticed that it was a card for an apartment complex. That's lucky, she thought.
She got in. Lana started the car and drove away from the hospital. She knew she had passed some buildings that looked like apartments a while ago. She just wanted to crawl into bed and pass out. Lana followed the address for the apartment complex on the card.
She finally reached it. It didn't look as good as the last one she had.
She didn't really care what they looked like, just as long as it wasn't far away from the beach and it had a bed.
Lana wanted to go to the beach sometime but she was looking forward to going shopping.
First she was going to get some sleep. Lana parked in the parking lot and she done the usual, turned off the car and got out.
Then she locked the door behind her. Lana walked up to the door and opened it. There were some bells hung at the top of the door, they sung to her when they hit the glass door.
She looked around at the room and walked up to the man at the front desk. She looked at him like he was a new species. He wore a blue torn shirt and he looked to be covered in grease or maybe some other substance. Lana snarled her nose. She still didn't care.
"I'm here for an apartment... obviously. So what do you have open?" Lana asked. The man just looked at her for what seemed like minutes.
"We have a lot of rooms open. What do you like?" the man said still staring at every inch of her body.
"Get your nasty eyes off me. I just want an apartment okay, a pretty big one but make it cheap," Lana smiled sarcastically.
