Colton POV
Knock. Knock.
I look up from my breakfast plate I'm holding and stare at the bedroom door. Who is it?
Kimmon walks out of the bathroom and past the couch where I'm sitting and darts to the door. "Maybe it is Bas and Copter. They might be back from the trial. They haven't checked in on us yet. I've always been told the two make sure all mating couples are handled properly. People have put food outside our door, but no one has really checked in on us. Then again, we aren't part of this pack. They don't need to check in on us."
I let out a snort and shake my head. "No, but I'm family. Copter will want to make sure everything is fine. Most would have stayed away from us, because of all the noises we have been making. Plus, you are an alpha. I think the rooms are soundproof, but I'm sure it doesn't stop all noise from getting out. We might have scared away the others."
My gut says it isn't anything like that, but now that he says it, I think there is something else.
He opens the door and steps to the side. Bas and Copter walk in. As soon as my cousin steps inside, he rushes to me. "How are you doing? I haven't had a chance to come sooner and check on you. I'm sorry."
I shake my head and give him a faint smile. "Don't worry about it. You've had your hands full. I'm just happy you have gotten back and can come see me now. Plus, it wouldn't have been a good time if you came before. I don't know what I was going through, but I think I went through heat. I'm not sure, though. It doesn't seem like it should be my heat. I never got that hot before. My sex drive was also...."
I trail off. Should I be telling him this?
Kimmon rushes to my side on the couch, while Copter and Bas sit on my other side.
With a bright smile, Kimmon excitedly adds, "Off the charts! I can't describe it any other way, but I loved it. He couldn't get enough of me, and I kept giving him more of what he wants."
Mentally, I cringe. Why does he have to give them so many details?
Concern fills my cousin's eyes.
He slides closer to me and pats my arm. "Was there anything else different or weird? I need to know everything."
I nibble the inside of my lip. Can I tell him everything? Isn't this too much information? It is so personal, too.
Kimmon wraps his arm around my waist and leans against my side. "For starters, our mating process is taking forever. I'm not upset, but I don't remember my friends or others within the pack having the process take this long. Then his body keeps getting hotter no matter how many times we have sex. It is so odd."
He kisses my cheek and continues, "We also marked each other twice. One on top of the other. I haven't heard of anyone doing something like that, either. Is there something wrong with our mating bond?"
My heart slams against my chest.
Please, tell me there is nothing wrong.
Copter scoops up my hands and softly caresses them. Little jolts of electricity and warmth shoot into them, but for once, it doesn't make me feel better.
Very odd.
I shake my head. "Copter, you don't need to try and heal me. I already feel good. Actually, I feel better than I ever have. Don't know why, but I'm not going to argue about it."
My cousin's eyes fill with questions as he stares at me.
Bas puts his hand on Copter's shoulder. "Do you think you did it again?"
I tilt my head. Did what again?
My cousin keeps his gaze on me as he shakes his head. "I don't know. Maybe."
What is he talking about?
I glance back and forth between Bas and Copter. "I don't understand. What might have you done again?"
Bas looks lovingly at Copter. "Your cousin has the amazing ability to heal the entire werewolf and get the werewolf were it needs to be, especially when he is concerned and worried about the person. When I first met Copter, my second gender was actually omega."
My mouth falls slightly open, and a gasp rings out from Kimmon.
Bas's smile widens, and he nods. "Yes. With my first mate, his second gender was alpha, while I was an omega. This isn't the first time it had happened in our pack where someone in my bloodline is an omega and still took charge of the pack. There was one other time when an omega took charge, but at some point, he slipped into a coma. Months later, he woke to have changed his second gender to Alpha. It was a similar situation like mine. My first mate had passed on and my second mate's second gender was also omega. It seemed the moon goddess wants the pairing to be alpha/omega when leading our pack."
He leans against Copter and wraps his arm around his waist. "Copter couldn't stand to see me in a coma. He used his healing abilities to speed the transformation along. He didn't know at the time what he was doing, but instead of me being out for months, I was out for only a few weeks. Then my cousin Mew had his second mate Gulf here. Mew didn't know Gulf was his second mate at the time. Gulf was a human and couldn't feel the pull, but anyone could see they cared for each other."
"Mew was stubborn and ignored what was going on. Needless to say, when Mew finally accepted Gulf as his second mate and claimed him, Mew went a little too rough on Gulf. Humans can't handle the mating process. The werewolf needs to take it easy of the human mate, which Mew didn't do. Copter and I had to go and heal Gulf in order for them to finish the mating bond."
A faint snort rolls out of him. "We didn't know at the time that Gulf's grandfather or great grandfather had originally come from our pack. When his ancestor took a human as his partner, his ancestor's werewolf genes went dormant in their offspring. Well, that is until we started to heal Gulf. By the time we were done, Gulf had become a full werewolf and had gained his wolf. Things I didn't even think were possible before I met your cousin."
Wow! Copter can do all that.
I'm just happy when I heal a paper cut.
Kimmon tightens his arm around me and timidly asks, "Do you think Copter has completely healed Colton then?"
Bas shrugs his shoulders. "It is very possible."
My mouth opens and closes, but nothing comes out. I don't know what to say.
I stare at my cousin debating whether it could be true. But if it is true, then what does it mean if my werewolf is completely healed. I feel better than I ever have before, but is that it? Or is there more to find out?
The plate in my hand wabbles, and Kimmon quickly takes it from me before I spill the food off it and puts it on the coffee table in front of us.
Copter caresses the back of my hands. Concern fills his eyes as he confidently announces, "We will figure out what this means. If history repeats itself, this means you are now a new version of yourself. Something you have never seen before."
My breath hitches. What does that mean?
