"It's been weeks. I can't take any more of this." I pulled my face away from his chest after a few minutes. "I can't keep talking to him like this. Like he can hear me. I can't keep lying to Rose about how she will see him soon. What if she will never see him again? What am I going to tell her then?!" I yelled tearfully as Lee continued to hold my arms as I clutched his shirt.

"At least Finn is too young to understand what's going on and to ask questions." I continued to cry finally pulling away from Lee making him step closer. "What if he never gets to know his father? What if Finn never knows Nathan?" I knew they were both worried and concerned for me and my emotional stability right now. But all I could think about was Nathan. "I'm not going crazy. I know what I felt." I finished finally looking up at the doctor.

"Why don't we let Rose in to visit him? It may help the both of them. Rose will understand what happening and maybe Nathan hearing her voice will help him wake up." Lee said softly as I looked over at Nathan still laying there unresponsive. "He wouldn't want them to see him like this." I replied calmly before turning my head away.

"I need air." I breathed heavily as I rushed out of the room walking towards the elevator.

Nathan's POV

My eyes opened slowly, immediately being blinded by the light that shone directly inside. Breathing heavily, I tried to make sense of my sudden confusion and panic. There were blurred figures around me as I turned my head slightly to examine my surroundings. My vision was blurry taking a while to adjust. I heard the quick tempo of a beeping heart monitor to my right, the sounds of someone weeping to my left.

Blinking slowly and taking a deep breath. My throat felt dry and sore. I finally was able to take a look around the room I had woken up in. What happened to me? I questioned. There was a young woman with tears in her eyes at my side.

There was a vase of flowers on the nightstand next to me. The weeping woman grabbed a tissue from the box next to it and blew her nose. Seeing that I had finally come to my senses, her eyes widened. Her lips parted in disbelief as a bright smile grew on her face, her golden-brown eyes still red from her tears.

"Oh, my god. Nathan. You- You're awake!" She breathed inching closer reaching out to me. "I-I never thought you would wake up, after all this time." The weeping woman said in a relieved tone. I couldn't seem to remember her, or that mine was Nathan for that matter. But I was too confused and shocked to have woken up here to ask.

"What- What do you mean after all this time?" I tried to reply. "How long have I been here?" I asked quickly. My voice felt horse and dry. The beautiful woman on my bedside's smile grew dim. "You've been in a coma. You were in a car accident. But don't worry now, I-I'm never going to let this happen again." The distraught lady looked determined.

"I found Julian and made him pay for what he did. We're safe now. I-I'll explain it all later." She continued through a relieved smile looking down at me. "Who? I don't remember being in an accident. I- I don't remember anything. Who are you?" I asked weakly pulling my hand away from hers. Looking around the plain hospital room.

"What? Y-You don't remember anything. Nothing at all?" The young woman asked with tense features. "No. Nothing at all." I answered slightly frustrated. The crying woman's face scrunched for a moment before relaxing. "You... Y-You are Nathan Vanderbilt. A lawyer from New York. My name is Genevieve." She answered.

"Alright." I groaned struggling to move. "That's all? J-Just alright?" She asked softly clearly taken aback. "I don't think I have much else to say." I said hoarsely. Truthfully, I had a about a thousand questions, but I didn't think this woman could handle it in this state.
