Tonight I had attended my grade's school dance and awards night. My friend Emily was my "date."
So I got two awards. The first one I was selected by one of my teachers, Mr. Lavinge, as the most improved female student. Secondly, I was nominated by my choir director, Ms. Orf, as best female citizen. I feel so loved and so blessed. Thank you so much!
So when your name is announced you had to go up to the front and shake all the teachers' hands as they congratulate you. Most of them were really cold. The first time I went around, I got to Mr. Lavinge on the end, whom I got my first award from, and he shook my hand and said, "Surprise!" The second time around, he looked at me and said I was a "Treasure to the classroom and to never change."
I literally cannot even explain how honored I am to get those words from a man who has lived through so many things and dealt with so many people. It's amazing. I have no words.
So when the dance started after the awards, my friends and I got many photos at the photo booth and Tristan's mom held them for us. We mingled a lot and danced a little.
So as I said before, I am so honored to have received these awards and be able to get such nice words. It was otherworldly because this year, definitely, I have never felt so amazing in my life. Life is so much better when you surround yourself with who you want and really accept who you are. I've learned so much over last year and this year I feel like I'm ready for anything.
Thank you to everyone and everything for teaching me that if we all do it, no one looks stupid.
