Humaira
"I don't even know what to do about my sister" I complained, "She's going to chew my head off if I don't get her those Samosas"
Farhan laughed as I complained about Ruqayya, "She's my favorite sister in law" he commented.
I rolled my eyes at him, glad he was finding this amusing. We were currently shopping in a local market. I had bought a lot of things which we had gone and kept in the rented car since they were becoming too heavy to carry. We were just going down lanes to see if we had forgotten anything behind.
I saw a shop and an idea popped into my head and without any prior notice I began pulling both of them into the shop.
"What are we doing here?" Farhan asked.
"We are going to try on clothes"
"I'm not going to stop you" he said, "but I'm not getting involved in this"
I looked at the woman hoping she understood English. Well not counting on it I just said the name of what I wanted "Sherwani" I pointed at Farhan
"What color do you want?" she asked in English which made me sigh in relief.
I smiled "Just give him any to try on, oh and for the boy too"
She nodded and got three suits for Farhan
"Where's the dressing room?" I asked and she pointed to a room in the corner, "That's it"
"Thank you" I smiled and turned to Farhan who still had a worried expression on his face and I dumped them on him.
"Do I really have to wear these?"
"You can't come to India and not wear these. Your trip would be incomplete" I said then pushed him towards the room and he walked in muttering things to himself. I took the ones she got for Imran and helped him into it. The first one he got into was a red and white one and it fit him perfectly. "You look amazing" I grinned at him and took the camera Farhan had left behind to go change and took pictures of him.
"I've tried one on" Farhan called, "Can we leave now?"
"Come out let me see you" I said grinning
"Why?" he groaned
"Because I want to see you in it" I laughed "Come out"
He reluctantly came out wearing the brown out of the three colors he was given.
"He looks good in Indian clothing" the woman said to me
"He looks amazing" I agreed. When I looked back at him his cheeks wee tainted a slight shade of red which made me chuckle.
"Tell daddy he looks nice" I nudged Imran who obeyed.
"You look nice too" Farhan smiled at him.
I took the camera and began taking multiple pictures of him and then I asked Imran to stand next to his dad so I took pictures of both of them.
"This is unfair" Farhan said and I stopped.
"What?"
"We get to wear these and you don't?" he raised his eyebrow at me inquisitively.
I began coming up with an excuse but then Farhan held his hand up in the air telling me he didn't want to hear any part of it.
He looked at the woman, "Get her something too. What are they called, uh, Saris yes. Get her one of those"
"No" I laughed when the woman held out one for me, "I can't wear that. You know how they are" I said referring to how my abdomen will be exposed.
"She's a woman" he said, "And there's no one else in the shop" giving me no room for an excuse.
