ABEL

"No, no fucking way is she staying here." Hyghly speaks as he waves his hands in dismissal.

"Hy is right, bro. This place is small for the three of us as it is. That's a hard no for me, too." La Mar chimes in as he gets comfortable on the couch.

We're all discussing something I brought up to the both of them.

I squint my eyes at La Mar after his comment.

"You sure didn't mind when Kai was staying with us. That being this same small ass loft." I speak.

La Mar smacks his lips. "Abe man, you know damn well it's not the same thing. Kairi is not problematic or a snake like Crystal. That girl can't be trusted."

Hyghly places his hands in surrender gesture and drops them again. "I don't know her like that, but it's still a no for me."

I knew that talking to the guys was going to be pointless because I was going to get no for an answer.

I don't blame them for saying no.

La Mar is right about one thing.

Crystal is not the same girl she used to be when I first met her. I'm not saying that growth or change is a bad thing, but the change within her comes off sneaky.

I think it's shady how she treated her brother and then hated on Kai for no reason.

I don't know what to do, I feel like i'm stuck in a situation I don't want to be in.

Crystal spoke to me in private earlier, and she was terrified and hopeless.

The way her lip tremble as she cried hard when she told me her parents kicked her out of the house. She was partying hardcore every night and sometimes didn't come home days later.

The last straw was when her mother caught her snorting white powder in her room.

That same night, she was kicked out.

The girl who is supposed to be her best friend let her stay with her for a couple of days until she kicked her to the curb, too.

That girl is La Mar's ex-girlfriend, lena.

I never once doubted his choice when it comes to girls, but Lena is toxic.

If that shit wasn't already bad, Crystal was threatened by a crazy guy she didn't know on her way over here. I felt bad when she said she managed to get away before he hurt her.

This type of situation is never easy, I should know since I have been through something similar.

The difference is that I chose the struggle of life by leaving my home at a young age and not going back.

It's tough, I probably wouldn't have made it without La Mar and Kai. Even to this day, it still hasn't gotten any easier for me.

With that being said, I can't leave Crystal in the streets alone when she begged me for help.

"Look. I say, placing my hands in praying gesture for a second before dropping them to the side again. Out of respect, this is your loft, too. I just ask that you be reasonable and let her stay for a little while. Until something is figured out about her situation." I speak.

La Mar and Hyghly look at each other, then back at me.

"I'm doing this for you bro, temporarily she can stay. Just so we're clear, you're the one who is dealing with her. I don't want shit to do with her." La Mar speaks.

Hyghly nods. "I second that, and she's also off limits to the room. This couch right here is as comfortable as it gets." He speaks as he pats it.

I chuckle. "Deal."
