Camryn climbed out the window as she lodged one of her arrows into the outside wall of the tower, using it to climb down. "You coming Blondie?" She called up to the shoeless girl who was still standing at the window ledge, looking out to the big world, her hair looped around the hook. She clung onto her hair as she looked around.
"Look at the world so close, and I'm half way to it.
Look at it all so big, do I even dare?
Look at me, here at last
I just have to do it
Should I? No
Here I go..."She sang as she threw her hair down and jumped out the window, Camryn needing to duck forward to avoid being knocked off by Rapunzel sliding down. Rapunzel laughed happily as she slid down, only to stop in her tracks when she reached the bottom, reluctantly stepping on the grass for the first time in her life, the feeling making her chuckle as she lay down, rolling around.
"Just smell the grass, the dirt.
Just like I dreamed they'd be
Just feel that summer breeze
The way it's calling me."
She sang as she got up and ran to the small stream, splashing in it.
"For like the first time ever,
I'm completely free..."
Rapunzel stepped forward as she began running.
"I could go running, and racing, and dancing...
And chasing, and leaping, and bounding
Hair flying, heart pounding and splashing and reeling
And finally feeling
Now's when my life... begins!""I can't believe I did this." Rapunzel laughed as she spun around. "I can't believe I did this..." She mumbled to herself. "I can't believe I did this!!" She yelled. "Mother would be so furious..." She said to herself as the two girls set out for the journey ahead of them.
Rapunzel was sat by a stream, holding a Lilypad in her hands. "But that's okay, what she doesn't know won't kill her, right?" She said, trying to make herself feel better while Camryn stood and watched.
"Oh my gosh, this would kill her." She whined as she hugged her knees in a cave, rocking herself back and forth, Camryn standing outside the cave, clearly not wanting to be there XD"This is so fun!!" Rapunzel screamed as she ran down a hill, kicking a pile of leaves while Camryn, once again, just stood there, feeling like she was babysitting a 3-year-old.
"I... am a horrible daughter... I'm going back." Rapunzel said to herself as she held her head against a tree, standing on the branch.
"I am never going back!!" She yelled as she rolled down a hill, wrapping herself in her hair with a laugh.
"I am a despicable human being..." She mumbled as she lay face down in a field, Camryn sat beside her with her face leaning against her hand.
"Woohoooooooo!! Best. Day. Ever!!" She laughed as she swung around a large tree on her hair.
Rapunzel sat with her knees up, face buried in her hands as she sobbed, feeling guilty for disobeying Gothel.
Camryn walked over and cleared her throat. "You know, I can't help but notice, you seem a little at war with yourself here." She said.
"What?" Rapunzel chocked out as she looked up at Camryn.
"Now, I'm only picking up bits and pieces. Of course, overprotective mother, forbidden road trip. This is serious stuff. But let me ease your conscience. This is part of growing up. A little rebellion, a little adventure. This is good, healthy even." She said softly, making Rapunzel chuckle slightly.
"You think?" The blonde-haired girl asked.
"I know. You're way over thinking this, trust me. Did your mother deserve it? No. Will this break her heart and crush her soul? Of course. But you just got to do it." She replied.
"Break her heart?" Rapunzel asked.
"In half." Camryn replied as she played with a berry.
"Crush her soul?" Rapunzel asked as she gripped to her hair.
"Like a grape." Camryn said as she crushed the berry in-between her fingers.
"She would be heart broken, your right." She said as she nervously played with her hair, Camryn helping her stand up.
"I am, aren't I? Oh bother..." She said sarcastically. "All right, I can't believe I'm saying this, but... I'm letting you out of the deal." She said as she walked over to a stone where Rapunzel's frying pan was resting and Pascal was sitting, picking them both up.
"What?" Rapunzel asked as she looked at Camryn.
"That's right. But don't thank me. Let's just turn around and get you home..." She said as she handed her the frying pan and Pascal. "Here's your pan and your frog. I get back my satchel, you get back a mother-daughter relationship based on mutual trust and voila! We part was as unlikely friends." She said, trying to lure Rapunzel back to the tower.
"No! I am seeing those lanterns." Rapunzel said sternly.
"Oh, come on! What's it going to take to get my satchel back?" She whined before the frying pan was being held to her face.
"I will use this." Rapunzel threatened before the sound of a twig breaking, making Rapunzel scream and jump into Camryn's arms. "Is it ruffians? Thugs? Have they come for me?" She asked as she held her frying pan out as protection, only for a little fluffy rabbit to jump out.
"Stay calm, it can probably smell fear." Camryn said sarcastically as Rapunzel got down.
"Oh, sorry... Guess I'm a little bit jumpy." Rapunzel said with a slight chuckle.
"Probably best if we avoid ruffians and thugs though." Camryn said with a smile.
"Yeah... That'd probably be best." She laughed.
Camryn thought for a second before turning to Rapunzel. "Are you hungry? Cause I know a great place for lunch." She said excitedly.
"Where?" Rapunzel asked.
"Oh, don't you worry. You'll know it when you smell it." She replied as she led Rapunzel to whatever restaurant she was talking about.
Meanwhile Maximus was sniffing around, trying to get a scent of the thief. He saw a wanted poster of Camryn as he chewed it up. His ears perked up as he heard a twig snapping in the distance, hiding and waiting for the right moment. He jumped out at the person thinking it was Camryn, only to be disappointed as he was met with a woman, making her jump and gasp in fright.
"Oh, a palace horse. Where's your rider?" She asked as her eyes widened. "Rapunzel. Rapunzel!" She yelled as she rushed back to the tower, Maximus just looking in confusion before going back to looking for Camryn.
Gothel got back to the tower and anxiously chuckled. "Rapunzel, let down your hair! Rapunzel?!" She called up, not getting an answer.
She rushed to the side of the tower and ripped some vines away, then the stones, revealing a set of stairs leading up to the tower. "Rapunzel!? Rapunzel!!?" She called out, looking everywhere as she began panicking, a shine of light catching her eye from underneath the bottom step leading to Rapunzel's room.
She removed the wooden cover and found the satchel. She growled as she saw the wanted poster of Camryn. Walking over to a table and taking a knife from it.(Hey guys, I know this isn't overly longer than the others but I don't want to put too much in a single chapter. Next chapter might be out later on depending on time and stuff. So yeah, hope you enjoyed!!)
