🎆"I talked to the company"
Irie looks away from Enya, trying her best to act like she isn't bothered by that. Enya's face is twisted into something unsettlingly unreadable. It's silent between them as the fire powered waits for Halston to pass by in the hallway before she continues. His steps are heavy, they echo in the silence. The tall man glances at them for a moment before continuing. As always, he doesn't say a word. Not even greeting them with a nod. Enya turns back to Irie once he has disappeared behind the corner.
"They're ready to take this matter further if you don't keep it under control, Irie. Do you understand what that means?"
Irie keeps her mouth shut, nearly glaring at the fire powered. It wouldn't be ideal to fight right now. The company is already on edge about Irie's behavior this far, both her negative bursts of emotion and her positive ones. It's dangerous for a Powered with her level of strength to act so recklessly. Irie knows that they shouldn't be fighting right now but she can't help but take a threatening step closer to Enya, not liking where this conversation is going.
She hates that her anger only proves Enya's point. She really is getting more and more lost in her own emotions, isn't she? And it's been happening ever since Dahlia got into the picture.
"Don't try to act all threatening with me right now"
Enya grits her words through her teeth, looking both angry and desperate at the same time. They try to keep their voices low and their actions as minimal as possible.
"You're digging your own grave. First you throw a huge fit in front of the leadership about Dahlia being the Power Wraith, and now that she isn't you're taking her to your bed? You're sleeping with her? I'm counting down the days until they put you back into solitary again and it's freaking me out!"
Enya's whispered anger is a promise of how much louder she would be if there weren't cameras everywhere. Watching their every move. Cameras, and Powered, since they are still in the penthouse. They're standing outside Irie's room, waiting for Dahlia to get ready getting dressed. The penthouse is where all of the senior Powered live, all six of them now. They all have their own rooms in this corridor, which is why Enya tries not to be too loud. She doesn't want them to overhear. The only room she doesn't have to worry about is the empty one, furthest down the hallway. Tan's room door is closed, like it's been for months. It almost weighs down their conversation to just see it there, in the corner of their eyes.
"You sure it's just that?"
Irie takes a step closer, but this time it's not threatening. Well, not threatening with violence in mind, at least. Enya faces her eye to eye, both of them gently glaring into each other's souls. Enya's lip twitches.
"What?"
Irie squints.
"You're certain you're not just jealous?"
Surprised, Enya's eyes widen for a fraction of a second. Irie steps back, putting her hands in the pockets of her sweatpants. They have a skin-tight uniform, but oftentimes Irie and the rest of the Powered find it more comfortable to wear something like sweatpants and thick sweatshirts on it to hide it. It's just weird that they have to wear a uniform to identify themselves as Powered to anybody who walks by.
Irie hums, continuing before Enya gets a chance to respond.
"We never slept together, not like that. We only shared a bed and happened to get close in our sleep. It seems like you're only stating what you wanted to see"
Irie turns to Enya again, something shining in her eyes. It's creepy for Enya, who doesn't often get to see so much emotion in her fellow Powered. The fire girl frowns as Irie analyzes her, speaking softly but with an edge to her voice.
