Wooyoung smoothed his hands over his outfit, more than pleased.
For obvious reasons, he had picked turquoise and insisted on it even when Kiko groaned about how it didn't suit his hair. The fabric spanning over his chest in a cropped top and wrapping around his waist like a skirt was airy, but not sheer. Brown cords hugged them around his frame, crossing charmingly around the strip of bare skin across his waist and down his legs to tie in sandals. Shoes were rarely worn in Atlantis, but they got some since they weren't used to going barefoot.
Wooyoung received some accessories to go with it, some necklaces and bracelets made of seashells and he adored their colourful mismatch.
Yeosang was a mirror of him, only that he wore a light orange set. Once they were fully dressed, Wooyoung wrapped dainty arms around Yeosang's waist, tugging their chests flush with a coquettish pout.
"What do you think, Kiko? Anyone not picking the two of us up tonight will miss out, no?"
Kiko, donning blood-red harem pants and a bandeau, snickered at them. Her dark hair was tied up halfway and fell over her shoulder when she reached to adjust Yeosang's embarrassed glasses.
"I absolutely agree."
Petra wore yellow and Yongguk was cast in a smoky grey, showing the least skin of them all. Once the store owner was done with them, Seonghwa clapped his hands for their appearance.
"It suits you marvellously well! I'm sure you will receive many compliments. Now, shall we? I will accompany you to the museum. Best our preparations stay a surprise until then!"
They happily followed along. Wooyoung caught Yeosang tugging on his clothes insecurely a few times. Though he made a pretty sight with his pale skin and lean muscles that weren't hidden under the nerdiest of sweaters for once, he wasn't used to such clothes.
Now Yunho and Mingi looked like two wolves watching a lamb.
The museum was fun, though Wooyoung couldn't concentrate. He wanted it to be the day after already and see San. Time stretched like gum, and Wooyoung thought he would die of boredom as Seonghwa stumbled over his words, trying to explain the history of their fruits to them.
After the longest day of Wooyoung's life, the festivities rolled around, and the team jumped into their new clothes.
Wooyoung thrummed in excitement while Yeosang struggled with his bindings, but then Seonghwa picked them up and it was finally time to go.
On the way out, Wooyoung wanted to bounce from the walls and explore every nook and cranny of Atlantis that had been lit in homey warm lights nestled in large empty sea shells. He clutched Kiko's arm, stars in his eyes as he regarded the festive decorations. Garlands made of colourful sea shells and broken pieces of corals strung between the white houses. Seaweeds braided into beautiful patterns floated with the breeze.
The scent of food and the ocean hung in the air, making Wooyoung's mouth water. Fires lit the street corners, and people flocked from everywhere to enjoy the centre of music and dance at the town square. They wore kaleidoscopic clothing that blurred into a carpet of positivity, filling Wooyoung with joy.
Though it was clear who they were by their company, the Atlanteans didn't react impolitely to their presence. They smiled in grace at the passing group before they delved back into their conversations.
Food buffets and drinking fountains were assorted around the heart of the city. Musicians strummed their quirky lutes and flutes made of oceanic materials and though each sounded foreign, they were charming in their newness.
Wooyoung had so much to look at, but Seonghwa gravitated towards the food first. Once they arrived, he beckoned at the groaning tables.
"The townsfolk prepared these, so try whatever you want. Everything is safe to eat for you. Our wine contains alcohol, but I hear you are accustomed to that concept?"
