Most of their life is unknown, not remembering their life before the age of five, (Name) only knows they were from somewhere else before being adopted by Darius Zackly. As a kid, they got into an accident which caused them to loose over half of their hearing. Before then, Zackly was a bit overbearing of his child, not wanting them to leave Wall Sheena, the innermost wall of the three walls protecting the remaining human beings. But, due to this, their curiosity grew for the outside world and wanted to be a member of the Survey Corps, which Zackly forbid.
At the age of twelve, (Name) made the decision to join the military. Their father was furious about the decision, but they did it anyways. Doing everything in his power to get (Name) back home, Zackly ultimately fails when Erwin Smith, Commander of the Scouts, convinces him to let (Name) go and live out their life.
It eventually was the training days for (Name), this is where they met most of their friends. It started with survivors of the infamous attack of Shiganshina District, Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert, a trio of friends who gradually became close friends with (Name). When the trio found out about the fact that (Name) had never seen Titan, they looked down on them, for a while, but when (Name) told them their desire to be a Survey Corps member, their views changed, little by little. Individually, (Name) had different relationships with all three of them. Eren's relationship with them is like tyin and yang, sometimes they got along, sometimes not. Mikasa grew very fond of (Name), she became a little protective of them, though, not as much as she would be for Eren. Then, Armin, he was the one who (Name) got along woth the most, him being the easiest one to approach that is.
They didn't spend as much time with the trio as a boy named Marco Bodt. The duo grew close due to their determination to their desired future. Through Marco, they met Jean, Connie, and Sasha, another trio, that was very chaotic. Marco's usually the one trying to get the other four out of trouble and apologizing for them. The trio members also grew close to (Name) as well. Jean, he was a cocky bastard, but (Name) somehow managed to tolerate such a character. Connie's personality did clash with (Name) a couple of times, but he still enjoyed the company of them. Then, Sasha, (Name) and her got especially close, bonding over their differences and similarities, it started with Sasha begging (Name) for their remaining food one night, they gave it to her, due to them being full, but the second they gave the food to her, it was gone. (Name) thought the girl was strange, at first, but then Sasha dragged (Name) along and two became a very chaotic duo.
Then, they met Kirsta and Ymir. An unlikely pair that (Name) seemed to enjoy the company of. Krista was starstruck by meeting them, Ymir on the other hand, didn't really like them, at first, but for Krista, learned about them, and they were the other person that Ymir had somewhat warmed up to, though not as much as Krista.
Next, there's Annie. This girl didn't really seem approachable, but like Ymir, (Name) broke into her shell, and somehow befriended the blonde girl. Annie was able to communicate with (Name), they talked through notes. Annie was able to get to know about (Name), but something about them made her even more curious about them. She kept (Name) close by ever since, but she was separated from them when it came to deciding which branch she was going to join.
Finally, Reiner and Bertoldt. These two are from the same hometown, so they've got each other's back. Though, separately, they're both pretty different. Reiner is a good comrade, who cares about the people around him and overall a selfless person. Bertoldt on the other hand, he was the polar opposite of his friend, Reiner. He was a bit of a quiet guy, didn't really speak unless spoken to. He also lacked a bit of bravery, but Reiner still cared about his best friend. When (Name) came into the picture, Reiner had started to invite them along with him and Bertoldt, he started to care about them and protect them, a little bit more than his other comrades, and even Bertoldt. Bertoldt noticed his friend's actions, he became a bit supportive of Reiner's actions, but he didn't really talk to (Name), though due to Reiner being so caring for them, he sometimes talked to (Name).
Throughout their training days, (Name) made sure that they didn't need their father's ranking to get them in the top ten when it came to graduation. So, they kept the attention off of them, and didn't let their skills get the best of them.
They continue to become a Survey Corps member, but not in the way they think. _____ idk if this makes any sense, but yuh 🧍♀️
