Dream remembered the last time he complained about his lover- it was the only time he did. He remembered it because that was when it all really started. At first his boyfriend at the time had just been rude.

His boyfriend always said he was trying to get better, so Dream believed him and stayed. It wasn't until he spoke to one of his friends about him, telling them about how he got upset over Dream cleaning something the 'wrong way'.

As soon as his lover found out, he was hit for the first time in that relationship. Dream didn't tell anyone, because he loved him. He loved his boyfriend and didn't want to hurt him or lose him. Plus, he was just having a bad day. It wasn't a big deal!

He supposes that's why he didn't notice when it got bad. Dream started to be threatened by his boyfriend with the possibility of being left, so he slowly got more distant from his friends.

He had been with his boyfriend for around eight years now, and every day got worse. Dream stuck it out though, he'd been taught that was what love was.. Or he thinks it was something like that. It didn't matter.

Dream continued wrapping the bandages around his arm, hoping the injuries wouldn't scar. Recently, his boyfriend had begun to indulge in different kinds of drugs- Dream didn't like knowing the specifics.

He got more aggressive the more attached Dream got. At this point, even if Dream was nearly killed by him, he'd probably still stay. "Don't waste all the bandages." He heard from behind him, making him turn and smile.

"Stop smiling, you look terrible." Dream stopped smiling, but he still had that warm feeling he got whenever looking at his boyfriend. "Much better." He got a smile from his boyfriend, making him need to fight his own grin.

"Could I go shopping today, love?" Dream asked, knowing better than to just disappear without asking first. "No. You're just going to get things we don't need." His boyfriend hummed, crossing his arms.

Dream didn't say anything else, simply finishing up the bandages on his arm. "Make dinner when you're done. I'm hungry." Dream nodded, pushing himself up. "Of course, dear." He walked off to the kitchen, starting to cook dinner.

He made sure to clean up as he cooked, knowing he'd only get in trouble if he didn't. When he cleaned up everything and all that was left to do was wait, he leaned over the counter and put his head in his hands.

Dream wasn't sure how much longer he could handle this, being ordered around without even the slightest affection from the other. "Come over here." He heard from the dining room, walking over without delay. "What's wrong?"

"You didn't clean up in here." Dream quickly apologized and asked if he could do it after dinner. "Are you stupid? You think you can just- just wait, to do it?" Dream winced at the tone, instinctively starting to shrink back.

"Do you understand how much I do for you?! Is this what I get in return?! Can you not do a single thing when I ask?!" Dream closed his eyes tightly and braced himself to be hit.

He ended up on the floor, covering his head with his arms as he was kicked over and over again. "Don't give me that bullshit ever again. Now get to work." He left the room, leaving Dream curled up on the floor. Dream had to check on dinner and make sure it didn't burn..

He slowly got up, holding his side as he walked into the kitchen. Dinner was fully done, so it was good he checked. Dream turned off the stove and went back to the dining room and started cleaning up.

"Is dinner ready yet?" Dream just nodded, continuing to wipe down the table. "Good. You're finally useful for something." The blonde clenched his fists, taking a deep breath. Sometimes he wondered if his boyfriend actually loved him or not.

He didn't realize he grabbed the other's shirt until said man spoke up. "What is it?" Dream looked down at him. "Do you love me..?" His lover seemed shocked for a moment. "Are you doubting me? Really?"

Dream let go and went back to cleaning, ignoring the doubts he had while doing so. If he pushed it, he'd just be hit again. Dream finished cleaning and went up to their shared bedroom, sitting on the bed and rubbing his eyes.

He heard his phone go off and so he grabbed it, looking at the notification. It was one of his friends again.. Surely just a few messages couldn't hurt, right?.. He opened discord for the first time in a while, looking at how many messages he hadn't read.

Dream opened Sapnap's dms, looking at what he was messaged and figuring out if he should say something. He heard footsteps and quickly closed discord, going to notes instead. "What the fuck are you doing?" Dream looked up at his boyfriend.

"I'm trying to write a to-do list for tomorrow." He lied, showing the screen of his phone. "Fine. Clean the lounge when you're done." Dream nodded, looking at the screen and just staring until his boyfriend left the room.

He switched back to discord and quickly sent 'I'm alive' before closing it and laying back. Dream got up a few moments later, putting his phone in his pocket and going to the living room.

He started cleaning up whatever he could, putting away books and DVDs, folding up blankets, sweeping up all the trash on the floor. Dream cleaned until it was late at night, finishing up the last bit. He decided to just sleep on the couch.

Dream woke up early, as usual, and went to the kitchen after checking the time. He started breakfast and put the kettle on, grabbing out two mugs and two plates. Dream would wake his boyfriend up when breakfast and the coffee were ready.

He hummed to himself when they were both done, going up to their shared room with one of the coffees in his hand. "Time to wake up, dear. Breakfast is ready." Dream spoke softly, gently shaking the sleeping man.

He woke up with a groan, turning onto his back. "What do you want now..?" Dream showed him the mug. "I made breakfast." Dream hummed, putting the mug down and going back to the kitchen. A few minutes later, his boyfriend was walking down the stairs.

He took a deep breath, preparing himself mentally for the day. Dream straightened his posture and started washing the dishes he hadn't managed to get to the day before.

"Good morning." Dream greeted, not expecting a response. As expected, his boyfriend stayed quiet and just ate until finding something to get upset about.
