On March 13th of 2018 the apocalypse started. I am not going to go into all this detail but to start, well, actually I am going to go into detail. I was watching TV. DanTDM to be exact. My pizza was cooking, a candle was going, the windows were open, and all was well.

Of course there's the dramatic "UNTIL..."

While I was watching TV a broadcast interrupted. There was a man with a microphone and fires behind him.

"We interrupt your day to tell you, there is a outbreak in the making. We don't know how it started or how long it will last but we do advise you to stay inside. STAY INSIDE-"

He got cut off by a soul wrenching scream.

He stepped aside and the camera zoomed in behind him. It was a lady being torn apart by one of the infected. It didn't bother me until I noticed, it was my mom.

I didn't know what to do.

I stayed on the couch sulking for about two days. I only got up because I had to use the bathroom. While I was washing my hands I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked like a total mess, my mother and I weren't close. It was more of the feeling of being alone and having no one. The fear of never having anyone again.

Being in the house that had all the memories of my family and the people I used to love made me go crazy. Everywhere I looked someone was looking back at me. Whether it was a picture or a item of some sort, someone was looking back at me. They were long gone before and I didn't care, but now, I was alone. I would have done anything to have just one of them back. Everyone was gone. It was just me.

So, I left. I grabbed a duffle bag filled with clothes, entertainment, and a single camcorder. It had all of our past trips and Christmases and thanksgivings and Easters, everything. I grabbed it even though I didn't plan to use it. After packing, I was ready to leave, but I also wasn't.

I knew if I didn't leave then I'd have a harder time leaving later. So, I grabbed my skateboard and rode my way out of my hometown. I had a map, a nice one too. My dad, if we could call him that, traveled all around. He went where he wanted when he wanted. The only thing that I didn't have planned was where I wanted to go.

"Vegas?... No. Chicago?...hell no. New Orleans?... Maybe?...... Nah."

  Then it hit.

                           "L.A.!"

It took me 20 days to get there. Let me just say, it was beautiful. The buildings were either slightly damaged or destroyed and it was beautiful. The Hollywood sign hadn't been touched yet and it's a once in a lifetime experience. I had to climb onto the Hollywood sign! It's not my fault they just left it there for my little child hands to mess with!

The only problem was the climb up the mountain. It was huge. It was going to be a lot of effort that I don't have. But, effort that I had to muster up with a twig and my hands. Quite literally. I had all my stuff on my back and I was using a large branch to support me. I really wanted this.

There was a shitload of infected here.

                                A shitload.

My stick was filthy by the end of the journey. I was basically one of the infected by the end because of how filthy and dead I felt. It was kind of worth it because I got to see the sunset.

Crazy how the end of the world makes everything seem so

Crazy how the end of the world makes everything seem so... not... Disgusting. Everything is perfect. I'm free to do anything and everything. Almost everything is perfect, I'm just alone while experiencing it.

At least for now.

A/N: I'm either not gonna post this or delete this in a week.
