PROLOGUE

                                    

                                          
SMOKE...CHOCKING...COUGHING...MORE SMOKE
Plumes of deathly black clouds filled the air and escaped in menacing swirls and trails. Like the fall of the sun, an enormous blaze erupting with hues of orange and red illuminated the night sky. There was so much smog and fire. The savage sounds of growling, ripping and gnashing of teeth penetrated my whole body. I heard the sounds of my people screaming and howling in terror as evil descended upon them. Everywhere rang the sounds of death and destruction. 
WHAT THE HELL WAS HAPPENING?! 
My friends and I ran towards the calamity that befell our pack. Our home. I felt the rage and pain in my heart resonated by the rest of the warriors as they ran behind me. Each one of them racing to try and save their loved ones... but what we had not realized was that everything we held dear would come to a cruel and bloody end this night. This couldn't be a simple rogue attack; it was too calculated. This was an act of war.
I turned to my left, seeing my best friend and sister. Her face an icy mask, but her eyes, spoke a different story. I could see beneath that frigid exterior. She was in agony and filled with fury. Her eyes, flickering between their natural colour and the vibrancy of her wolf. She was usually very good at suppressing her emotions, but tonight...the cracks were showing. 
I felt a tremor run through me...Anger, vengeance, pain...I could never really hide anything, but none of that mattered now. I was still deep in my thoughts when a strained voice suddenly echoed in my mind.
I-I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS...Where are the warriors? Wha -  Her voice cut out then, soaked in primal fear and anguish. Confusion and panic made my stomach fall, I couldn't answer.  We had reached the edge of the forest near the palace. All we saw was carnage. People had been slaughtered in droves and I couldn't see anyone fighting.
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!
