REGINALD FINISHED HIS meal later that night. He thought it was high time he gave a fatherly speech for the newlyweds.
In attempt to have all their attention to him, he gingerly tapped his champagne glass with a utensil. Once they all turned to him, he picked up the microphone and went up in front. "I know it is customary for the father of the bride..."
In the meantime, Viktor had decided to check Luther's favor out of his bucket list. "Hey." He approached a Allison, who was checking out the three-tier cake Luther just made within a day.
Her fascinations were short-lived as soon as she caught a glimpse the brunette right behind her, "I'm not in the mood." She deadpanned.
But Viktor genuinely wanted to smooth things over with her. Not just for the sake of Luther's wedding wish, but for the sake of their sibling relationship as well, "Allison--"
"No, I get it. It's a wedding." Allison averted her eyes from the cake as she finally faced Viktor. "Everybody's drunk and we're all supposed to be chummy. But I'm not feeling it." She shook her head in denial, even though she knew to herself that she'd drunken more that one glass tonight.
Viktor shrugged off her defense, "That's fine." He said. "You don't have to be in a festive mood. But will you please just hear me out?"
The microphone rang through the speakers again as Sir Reginald propped himself to speak in front of the crowd. He turned to the bride, intending to give his word to his daughter. "Sloane, ever since you were a little girl, I've always known you were exceptionally bright." He began, "And though I can't say I know Luther all that well, from the few moments we have shared, it seems you have found yourself an adequate partner."
Number Five didn't hold back a laugh at his words. "He just called Luther adequate." He snickered to Y/N, who could tell the alcohol was already getting to him. The rest followed suit with the side comments.
"Nicest thing he's ever said to him."
"The kerchief really softens him though."
It didn't take long for Lila shush Diego and Klaus up. Surprisingly, she was listening intently to the old man who was handling the speech.
"I acknowledge that, as a father, I was not without my faults." Reginald admitted, "I hope these shortcomings will be seen as only a rough patch on an otherwise verdant lawn."
Allison didn't care much for Reginald Hargreeves' speech. The smaller man in front of her forced her to listen to what he has to say, which was another awfully predicted apology.
"Look, I'm sorry. I was wrong." Viktor told her, "I lied, and... I betrayed your trust. But you're more important to me than anything in this entire world."
He admitted his feelings with all his courage. "Will you forgive me?" Allison was almost ready to be considerate with him. But the sight of him putting everyone at risk, being the selfish person that he was, her emotions were saying otherwise.
"No." Allison highly disproved of it, "I don't think I will."
Meanwhile, Reginald still went on with his speech. "I'm proud to call you my children." He declared for all of them to hear. "Even those who I raised in a revenant version of myself."
From then, they rest of them started listening to the old man's words. Slowly getting moved by the validation they've never heard him say to their faces. "I hope that tonight we can create a few special memories in whatever precious time we have left."
Y/N, however, couldn't bring herself to take his word for it. Does special memories mean trying to make us go to the other side?
Viktor felt his heart stop as things didn't go the way he played it out in his head. "If you won't forgive me, just know I forgive you." He said to her. He was willing to forgive Allison for what she had done.
