Five Years Later...
I smiled, surveying the crowd. My hair was pulled back, and curled in a beautiful half-up, half-down style, topped with a silver and pearl tiara. My white dress was off the shoulder, and floor-length. In my hands was a bouquet of lilies.
Ahead of me, dressed in light blue, were Evalyn and Amara. My two closest friends. Opposite them were Jay, and...
Kay.
A grin spread across my face. I walked down the aisle, the crowd singing softly,
The man glanced between me and Kay. He slipped my hands into Kay's as we said our vows.
He slipped a pearl ring on my finger, and I slipped an onyx one on his.
"I pronounce you, husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
* * *
"I'm so happy for you!" Evalyn squealed.
"Me too!" Amara commented, walking up.
"Thanks, guys." I turned to my sister. "Wait a second - where's my favorite little nephew?"
She grinned. "Aiden's with his father."
"Poor Luke." Evalyn commented, and the three of us laughed.
"Did Andrew come?" I asked.
Evalyn sighed. "That husband of mine... I love him, but he never stops working!"
I smiled. "Don't they all?"
The three of us laughed again.
Kay walked up to me. "May I have my wife for a moment?"
The two girls nodded, and I let him lead me to the dance floor.
With one hand on my waist and the other clasping my own hand, we slowly swayed to the music.
As the moon shone brightly in the sky, I couldn't help but think of the words that the old man had told me.
"All you need is a little magic in your life... find the magic."
Consider it found.
