The next morning, I woke up early. I quickly changed into my uniform, and settled on my bed, waiting for Evalyn to come back.
6:30 on the dot, the door swung open, and Evalyn walked through.
"We need to talk." I told her, getting up and closing the door behind her.
"Okay...?" She set her bags down on the ground and sat on her bed.
"First, Andrew came by last night; I'm supposed to tell you that he was looking for you."
Evalyn smiled dreamily, her eyes cast on the ceiling.
"Second, you can't tell anyone, but I'm... kind of dating Kay...?"
Evalyn squealed, "I KNEW IT!!" and I cringed.
"Don't tell anyone." I hissed. "And keep it down."
"Sorry, sorry, sorry..."
I sighed. "It's fine." Then I smiled. "Let's head to the Cafe, 'kay?"
She snickered to herself. "I have to change - I'll meet you down there, alright?"
I smiled warmly. "Okay!"
I walked downstairs, and was greeted by an enthusiastic Kay.
"Hey! How did you sleep?" he asked eagerly, walking up and subtly slipping his hand into mine.
"Great." I glanced around. "She knows." I warned, lowering my voice.
He grimaced. "Ok."
I smirked, and stopped.
"What?"
"Oh, Kay..." I laughed.
He rolled his eyes. "I have to get to class early - helping a teacher out for extra credits."
"You aren't falling behind, are you?" I asked worriedly.
"No." he assured me. "I just want to make sure that I get in her good graces. I'll see you at lunch. Have a good day."
With a squeeze of my hand, he was gone.

The whole day, my mind was wandering.
"Miss Alexia!" Mrs. Sniper's voice cut through the dreamy silence of my mind. "Please pay attention in class! This is the third time this morning!"
Snickers filled the room, and my face turned red. "Sorry..." I apologized. She just looked away and went back to the lesson.
Soon the bell rang, and the sound of shifting chairs filled the room.
I shoved the books all into my bag, and practically ran out of the room.
I dumped my things into my room, not needing them seeing as that had been my last class.
I quickly changed, throwing on a green t-shirt and black leggings - as you can imagine, both embellished with gold. I tossed my hair into a messy braid and darted through the school, weaving my way around until I got to the stables.
I quickly tacked up Sapphire, and led her to the platform. I mounted up, and sat there, waiting.
Dragon claws clicked against the floor behind me, and I turned in the saddle slightly to see who it was.
Red splashed across my cheeks as a handsome boy mounted up next to me.
"You're late." was all I could say. I mentally smacked myself. I was never this awkward before. What's so different now?
"Actually, I'm not. You're early." he flashed me his watch, beeping a big 3:30 at me.
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes. "We're here to fly. So let's fly." On that last word, I tapped my heels to Sapphire who shot forward, leaving Kay in the dust.
Surprisingly, though, he quickly caught up. He and Storm were keeping pace with Sapphire and me.
I let out a gasp of horror when Kay suddenly slipped his feet out of the stirrups, and stood on the saddle as though it were a surfboard.
"What are you doing?!" my voice was scratchy with panic.
"This." I screamed as he jumped off of Storm, hanging mid-air for a second before landing behind me on Sapphire.
He quickly shifted in the saddle, his hands on my waist, and my back to his chest.
Storm was flying nearby, following us.
My heart was racing so fast, I didn't even think about flying.
"Are you insane?!" I yelled, my hands unconsciously releasing the reins.
"Maybe, maybe not. But you definitely are." I turned around, and he smirked at me.
"Am not!" I protested.
"You're the one letting go of the reins while we fly." he pointed out, causing me to hastily regather the reins.
"And also," he continued, "you'd have to be pretty insane to date an insane person."
"I-" I was cut off as his lips met mine.
My fingers released the reins, and I melted into the kiss, enjoying every second of it.
He pulled back a few moments later. "The reins." he pointed out.
With my face burning hotter than the sun, I quickly gathered the reins and spun us around, heading back.
Silence stretched between us.
"Where's Storm?" I asked suddenly.
"Uh... right there." Kay pointed behind us. He then stuck his fingers in his mouth and let out a sharp, shrill whistle.
Storm flew up next to us.
As Kay jumped back over to Storm, I could've sworn the dragon was smirking at us, as if to say, I know what you did.
