Right after Quentin put on his top, he clapped his hands together and jumped around: "Okay, tight schedule! In the forenoon the IKS has their prom until two o'clock and during the afternoon the PPS starts at half past two. It's a bit of a close call, but if they don't prolong anything, I'll be on time for the opening song. And since the proms at the IKS are always more like a funeral, they shouldn't be having too much fun. But in the evening we'll go out for dinner with Dawit, so we can't stay at the party of the PPS for too long". Adrian let him breathe by interrupting: "Nobody says anything against that, everything's gonna go fine without having to stress ourselves out". Meanwhile he also woke up Julia, who took a quick nap on Quentin's beanbag.

Marco drove the three of them to the school building of the IKS and asked: "Are you sure that you'll be alright? I overheard that this Jonathan is also graduating". Julia was already out of the car door: "Psh, I'll push that bonehead off the stage if he starts looking for trouble. It's his big day after all, not mine". Anyway he particulary asked his son, who he looked at more intrusively. He thought about it shortly and nodded confidently: "We'll deal with him, should something even happen". "Well then, have fun. And I'm so sorry that we can't drive you to the next party", with that he let the teenagers go.

As soon as Quentin got out, he tugged on his button-up shirt: "Oof, the IKS really did make the smarter decision to party in the morning. I'm sorry for the people who have to run around in suits later on". Adrian countered: "Therefore our school didn't spare no expenses to invest in an actual foyer that owns AC. The IKS is celebrating in their own school building". "Your school doesn't have an actual assembly hall for that", he raised an eyebrow and they followed Julia into the building where it was at least shadowy.

By now many students had assembled with their families and friends already. The teachers took a certain distance from them by doing organizational things. It didn't take long until Dawit found them. His entire family was there, so Adrian actually met his parents for the first time. In addition, Kylie took a huge risk by showing up in drag. Dawit had some bad news right away: "So our teachers decided that families and friends should sit seperately from the students. So you've been positioned somewhere in the back". Quentin stomped once: "Are they nuts?!".

They heard Jonathan call from not that far away: "Are you nuts to wear suspenders? Travel back to your time, freak!". Quentin's friends got ready to stand up for him, but he turned around himself and noted mockingly: "Say, where are your parents? Didn't they have enough time for you?". Suddenly it got quiet. The first to stop giving him shocked looks was Adrian, who started wheezing: "Excuse me? Where did that come from?". He covered his mouth: "Self-defense, but was that too harsh?". Julia twisted her look: "Are you crazy? I hope that that was level one. Put some real salt into his wounds".

He tilted his head: "Well, his parents probably actually didn't have time for him, why he turned into such a dickhead in the first place. Should I have said something else?". Supporting Adrian softly jolted him: "You said something at all! I'm so proud of you!". Blushing he smirked: "Why, thank you...". Before anynone could ask why he did it, the principal announced the start of the ceremony and everybody was supposed to get seated. There they met Rebecca, but she rushed towards the students seats and therefore could only barely greet. The speeches that were held were mostly boring. Julia almost slept in again.

At least they had the task to clap while the certificates were handed out. When Dawit was called up, they noticed that the teachers forgot to align the ramp for him. When he was sitting at the bottom of the stage, he called: "Beam me up, Scotty!". In contrary to the students, the parents had humor and laughed. That was the first time during all of prom where the people smiled. Though it wasn't their classe's turn yet, Rebecca ran to him on her high heels to help him get onto stage. Julia, Quentin and Adrian also lent a hand. On the way back Jonathan grabbed one of Quentin's suspenders and pulled on it so it would smack his back.
