Aiden's POV:
Days went by without another lead. Since last week, the weather was dreary and rainy. We've all been cooped up inside with nothing but each other, which soon got to us.
I tried to stay patient and out of trouble since the party. Snow seems annoyed with our choices lately, especially me. So I've tried to stay invisible during serious conversations with everyone. Chaos, on the other hand, didn't care. He woke up the next morning looking like he got run over because of how much he drunk, but was his usual self.
One thing that did bother me was that I haven't seen Snow in 48 hours. Chaos and I continued to train, but she usually walks in at the end to see how everything going.
Her disappearance made me question things. What if I did something to upset her? Is she feeling okay? Did she lock herself in her room again to find something about our enemies?
I knocked on Chaos's door. I've thought about too much in the past 10 minutes that I didn't realize I was here.
Shooter opened the door quickly. "About time."
I walked in to see Chaos and Silence on the floor. For a second I thought Silence was about to kill him, but Chaos was smiling while being choked by Silence's arm. I realized how unsurprised I felt, knowing this was a new normal.
"Where's Snow?" I ignored Chaos's choking sounds.
"In her room," He shrugged, "She didn't want to join tonight."
I didn't push any more questions. Sitting on the bed I took out my phone. Silence and Chaos continued to wrestle, and it was amusing to watch them act like regular boys. Until Silence swung his legs in a way I didn't comprehend, and pinned Chaos's legs so he wouldn't get out this time. Clearly, he knew that too. With a light tap, they were both off each other.
"Since you literal children are done now, I suppose we could start with the more important things?" Shooter raised an eyebrow.
They both glared, earning a smirk from Shooter. "Well first things first, Snows is likely on her cycle since we haven't heard from her. We three know how she can be during this time, so I'd steer clear of her till she's done hibernating. Second thing, we haven't improved our hunt at all. People are starting to ask questions about why Blondie has been here for so long, and we don't like nosey people. Try and watch out for them," I nodded at his request.
I had completely forgotten that Snow had a period like every other woman. My brain jumped to the conclusion that she didn't get it just because she was a trained killer like in the movies.
It was a short discussion; we talked about a handful of things before we left. Chaos was practically asleep by the end.
Thinking about the situation, something didn't sit right with me. The enemies had been dead silent for the past days, with no more meetings or information. What if they were almost done with whatever they were planning? Are they still after me? What exactly are they making?
My mind was clouded as my feet walked manually down the hall. It was late, and I hated the uneasiness of the place without lights on.
But tonight was different. I couldn't push down the feeling. The same one I'd always get when someone was watching me. My hand reluctantly touched the blade on my side.
A shadow appeared at the corner of my eye; with impulse, I swung around almost cutting the guy's head off.
"Woah there, tough guy," I registered the voice. Spocks.
"What do you want, Spots? I'm not in the mood for you to rub off on me," I yawned, still thinking about at least slitting his stupid smile.
"Your friends clearly helped you learn how to use that," He looked at the knife, "You've become a lot stronger since the last time I saw you. And less gullible,"
