Chapter 23
War between the Head and Heart ...

In the woods.....
 
Yibo gets up from the rock with a start as he opens his eyes, clutching Qui Su's locket even tighter in his hands.

Yibo ( terrified )- Zha...Zhan! I saw Zhan?... ( gets jittery )...No! How can this be? I am thinking about Qui Su....where did... Zhan come from? Or is it that ..... I..

Just then, Yibo feels a hand on his shoulder and he turns around. He is shocked to see a furious and emotionally wrought Zhan staring at him. Yibo is so taken aback by his  vision that he takes a few steps back ... his lovely cognac eyes wide in shock...the locket drops from his hands.


Yibo ( barely finding his voice )- Zhan ....

Zhan ( furiously )- We need to talk, Yibo ... NOW.


Yibo ( shaking his head)- We cannot... I am in no state to talk, Zhan ... ( holds his head)... just go away! Get out of my sight! Get out of my life!.. You are messing everything in my head!


Zhan ( takes a few steps closer to him)- I am messing everything in your head? ... ( holds him by his shoulders )... I am messing everything in your head or are you messing everything in my head , my heart , my life!... ( shakes him).. what did you do with me at Lang Hui's house?


Yibo looks at his charged face , flaming cheeks and angry eyes and he understands that he knows . Zhan knows that he kissed him.

Yibo ( to himself)- Sam! You are as dead as you can imagine! ....

Yibo ( looking away )- Go back to the hostel, Zhan! I didn't do anything with you... Sam has just muddled up your head or else you are drunk!


Zhan turns Yibo's face to himself and looks up at him so intensely that Yibo just has to look into his eyes.

Zhan ( angrier)- How did you know that I went to Sam? And you know that am not drunk! I know that you kissed me... ( in tears)... why did you do that, Yibo?  You have to tell me or else I am going to lose my mind!


Yibo looks at Zhan and his face softens ... and just then , he hears Qui Su's voice in his ears...


Qui Su ( in a very sad voice )- he is just my face, Yibo. Don't be confused. You are seeing me in him ... You love only me. Haven't you loved me all your life and beyond?


Yibo ( screams)- Yes, I kissed you, Zhan! I did. So what?... (pulls him  closer and has his face within inches of his )... tell me, so what? What do you think I would do with a boy with a good enough face who is piling himself on me? I have my raging hormones.. so I did to you what I do to all the women!... ( wicked grin)... it was fun while it lasted.


Zhan can see that his blood shot eyes are giving him away and he doesn't mean what he is saying. Something is massively wrong with him.


Zhan ( looking at Yibo intently)- These harsh words change nothing, Yibo. I know what we have between us... I don't know who you are or for that matter what you are... but what we have between us is real!
