Damian barged into my room as usual while I prepared for work. He looked like he wanted to tell me something but didn't know how to. And I wasn't going to ask him what.
"Cheryl wants to come over for dinner at our house" he said after five minutes of hesitation.
I stared blankly at him. "As long as I'm not the one cooking, I don't really care"
His face brightened up. "Really?. You're not mad I'm bringing someone home. You never allow visitors except Lisa"
"That's because Lisa's like family. And it'd be nice if a friend or two come visit you" 
"Who are you and what did you to my sister. This version scares me"
I chuckled. "You can order KFC take outs. I'd give you some money."
D cast me a sus look. "You are way more fun when you're nice. Who's influencing you?. Is it Kayden or Louis?"
My response came with a sour look. "Don't let me change my mind, Damian"
"I'm sorry" he apologized quickly. "Thank you very much K." He made to leave. "By the way, Cheryl's my girl".
I smiled. "Congratulations, Sherlock Holmes"
He rolled his eyes and walked out. 
I let out a deep breath. Lord knows I never  planned on giving him the permission to bring anyone home. But Damian sure needed liberty. I grabbed my purse and headed out.
Three shifts at three different work places from 5pm to 10pm starting with Starbucks. A girl had to do what she could to survive, isn't it.

Just a few minutes to 10pm and I would be done for the night. It had been a really long night. Trying to satisfy customers who had a problem with satisfaction and keeping up with my different shifts I really needed to rest. I couldn't wait for the night to be over because I solemnly hated my jobs. I mean I dont  even talk to anyone except the customers and that's when I need thier orders or I want to cash the register.
The bell rung signalling someone had just entered chops and hops. I didn't bother checking who entered.
"Chicken tenders in take outs"
I looked up from my note pad. A smile spread across my face. "Hey Louis, what are you doing here?"
"I didn't know you work at chops and hops"
"Well I didn't know you eat at chops and hops".
He chuckled. "Touché"
"Let me get your order. Can I get you anything else?"
"I'd like a glass of vanilla milkshake while I wait for your shift to end"
"You don't need to wait for me Louis"
"I wouldn't be a gentleman if I let you walk home all alone". 
That earned him a smile. "You sure know how to treat a lady, señor". He smirked. "I won't keep you waiting. I'd ask Cassidy to cover for me. I have about 13minutes" I served him his milkshake.
"Take your time pony tail"
  5minutes later, I was out of the locker room already dressed in my normal clothes. Cassidy was already on the counter. Cass was a Blondie  and a college student.  brilliant and bright. She always smiled even at worse case scenarios. We weren't close or anything but for all I know she was a good person.
"Thanks Cass. I owe you"
She flashed me a smile. "Anytime love. I'd see you on Friday". It was Wednesday.
I nodded, handed Louis his takeout and headed out with him to the parking lot. "Did you come alone?" I decided to ask.
"Kayden's in the car I think or maybe not"
"What do you mean?"
"He stopped to talk to some chic"
"Why am I not suprised?"
"Because it's Kayden. Have you seen him with that Mandy chic in school?"
Mandy?. Who's Mandy?. Man... Ohhh... I bursted into laughter. "You mean Vandi"
"That is her name?. We call her Mandy"
"That is definitely cuter than Vandi".
He chuckled. "True"
"What did I miss?" 
Just as we got to the parking lot, Kayden bumped into us.
"What are you doing here, K?" He questioned.
"I work here"
"Ohhh. Why don't we all head out together. I'll drive you home"
"Louis already offered, Haynes"
He smirked. "That makes it much easier considering I'm driving Louis home"
"I have car problem". Louis pointed out.
"Ohhhhh" 
"So shall we, mi Bella Reina" He extended his hands towards me.
I rolled my eyes. "Let's go Louis".

  Kayden dropped Louis at his penthouse. I e been to Louis's penthouse twice for a project we worked on together. He hugged me goodnight and headed in.
It was me and Haynes alone on the quiet strets of arrow way. 
"So you and Louis huh?"
"What's up with us?"
"You two seem really tight"
"We are tight, Haynes. Got a problem with that?"
I could hear him sigh. After a minute of silence, "Do you have a problem with me, K?"
"Where is that coming from?"
"You act cool around Louis and Cole. But when you're with me you're all saucy and feisty. Like we've had a beef in the past or something. I wanna know cos it looks like something personal"
"You're being delusional, Haynes. I have nothing against you and I'm not giving you the cold shoulders." I checked the time on my iPhone. 11:46
"Could you drop me here?. I have to get off now". I had business to attend to by 12am. 
"What?. I can't just drop you here. I can drop you where you're headed. By the way it's almost midnight, where could you possibly go?"
"That's none of your business. Now, please stop the car"
He hesitated. "Kayden!!"
"Okay okay, I'll just park over here"
"Thanks Kayden" I headed out.
"Will you be fine?"
I smiled. "I'm a big girl Haynes. I can take care of myself. I'll see you tomorrow in school"
And I disappeared into darkness.
