I was sitting in English class next to Donna who was buried deep into her book. Meanwhile I was trying to read my own ignoring the glaring stare of the girls.
"Can't they mind their own business? I whisper to Donna nudging her side, grabbing a bit of her attention.
"Nope"
"It was just one dance though"
"But you two looked like you were falling in love just like Romeo and Juliet at the Capulet ball" she said holding the book to her chest.
"No no no, first off were just friends and two we were held down in a basement and another thing is he honestly wanted to make my first Halloween dance special"
"Maybe he likes you, you never know"
"We're just friends and I'm not ready for dating" I said leaning against the desk burying my head in my own book. The teacher got up from her desk walking out of the classroom and that's when one of the glaring girls got up from her desk walking over to me and donna.
"Don't think just because you got trapped in a basement with Bruce means you can start taking him all to yourself" she snapped at me slamming her hand on the desk. I didn't say a word still having my head in my book inside though I wanted to start cursing at her or to take that hand of hers and just slam my book down. "I'm talking to you"
Her hand started reaching for my book as I slammed it down on the desk standing up out my seat looking down at her.
"You don't know all the hell I went through in the basement" I snarled back taking a step closer to her as she pulled back hitting against another desk. One of her friends noticed getting up, taking her away from me as I took a seat back down. The teacher came back as she turned the projector on starting our lesson.
by the time the bell rang I was grabbing my things rushing out of class to the next one then the next after that and another all with girls still glaring and mumbling to one another, but no one dared to step up and bug me until gym rolled around where I was playing with a basketball hanging around Griffin as we were talking about the books we read. Smack. The back of my head exploded in pain as I dropped the basketball, rubbing my head, turning back to see three girls having a hard time containing their laughter and another girl who was smirking at me.
"What the fuck their problem" Griffin said running beside me checking my head for any bumps.
"Most of the girls think I'm some kind of danger for getting close to Bruce at the dance"
"But you two are-"
"That what I'm saying but some of them don't understand that" I bent down picking up the dodgeball that had hit me as I strolled my way over to the girls. "Leave me alone "
She didn't say a word as I took the dodgeball, throwing it back over just a few feet away so she could go walking back to get it as I returned back to Griffin side.
"At this point just waiting for a fight to happen "
I would get that wish though it wasn't me doing the fight. When class ended me, and Griffin grabbed our things heading out the front door hearing people chanting circling around to what I assume was a fight happening. I pushed my way through the crowd seeing Moose lying on the ground with Robin beating the shit out of him as everyone kept shouting and cheering. I stood there watching it all wondering what Moose this time did to get his ass earned. Robin got up rubbing his blood knuckle as everyone knew the fight was over, making their way around each street to go home while Robin was heading to the bathroom. I took off after Robin to the bathroom slamming the door open walking in as he was rinsing his hand under the sink.
"What happened out there?"
"Nothing" he said, not facing to look at me.
"When people say it's nothing it's something and you always tell Finn and me your reason to fight"
"(y/n) I said it was nothing"
"Robin, you beat the shit out of Moose enough to draw a pool of blood to paint the ground, so I want to know why"
He stayed silent grabbing a few paper towels wrapping it around his knuckles staring at the ground.
"Robin it's not like you to beat people for no reason"
"He was just shit-talking"
"About?"
"You"
I didn't have to ask questions about what he was saying. We never got along before when I first got to this school, so it was bound to happen at some point. I helped fix up Robin's wound before leaving the bathroom heading straight back home to the quiet silence that greeted as I collapsed on the couch picking up the remote, turning the tv on to my favorite show laying my head back on the pillow curling up burying my face silent my weeping tears that seemed to never end. in that moment I regret wanting to go to the dance in the first place but the damage was already done there was no changing that. I pushed myself off the couch making my way over to the bathroom turning the shower on hoping that maybe it would calm me down for a bit as I pick every peice of clothing off steping one foot into the other leaning back agasint the wall as drops of hot water hit my side. I took a sigh of relief melting at the warm touch as my mind started to clear up a bit. I got under the shower head letting my body soak in all the warmth as I scrub away the dead skin rinsing away turning the shower off wrapping a towel around my body before opening the door as the steam cleared up running out the room. I got out a pair of pj pulling them over taking a seat on the edge of my bed pulling out a book falling back burying myself to that fantasy world I wish I could stay in.
