SASHA'S POV

The first thing that hits Sasha is the smell. She's still yelling, protruding with one arm where Anne has disappeared less than a bunch of seconds ago. She still can't understand why, where they are, what the fuck happened.

But she doesn't care. Anne's gone, now.

-Anne!- She shouts a last time, she's already desperate. She knows Anne's not coming back. She's on her to go and follow her, to block her cry. Sasha stands up and falls a second before again in the mud.

-What the fuck...?- She curses, trying to free her ankles from that stinky, dense sludge.

-Marcy?- She calls, flinching all of sudden because the thought of her bestie has crossed her just now. She turns behind to see Marcy sitting in the mud as her, they're looking at something really far ahead them, probably where Anne disappeared.

Sasha stands up again, gives a look around them. They're in a smelling swamp, all is covered by fog, noisy flies are everywhere between the trees. They're surrounded by browns and greys, the colours of a dangerous swamp.

Sasha doesn't know where they are but the blue light has brought them here, wherever here is. She's almost sure about it. She walks near Marcy, kneeling down on the ground without caring of the mud.

-Ehy, Marce.- She calls gently them, tucking their messy hair behind one ear. Their neck is still covered by red stripes and signs of the robot's pawns. Sasha looks around them two but there aren't any other robots. They're alone.

-Why Anne ran away?- Marcy cries, burying their face in Sasha's dirty jacket. The tears are shaking their tiny chest. Sasha hugs them, enwrapping their body in the tightest hold.

-She was scared, Marcy.- Sasha murmurs. She knows only one thing: now it's on her to be cool and calm. She'll lead Marcy out of that swamp, first. And second, she'll find Anne. Step by step.

Sasha stands up, leaves Marcy but still holds their hands.

-Marce, come on!- She says, determinated, but her tone of voice is still soft. She has to be kind with Marcy, they seem truly confused, scared. Sasha knows it won't last for so long, they'll understand to be in another world in less than one hour. Or, at least, that's what Sasha thinks. She doesn't even know if they're actually in another world.

-Sasha, we have to...ugh.- Marcy stands up as talking, their last word is caused by their foot hitting another puddle. Their red, old vans disappears inside the mud.

-Rip.- They murmur, sad. Sasha wraps their shoulders with one arm, they start walking side by side inside that swamp.

-Sasha, we have to find Anne.- Marcy says, they're directed where Anne ran before, but the orienteering inside the swamp is almost impossible. Sasha nods.

-I know. First, let's leave this ugly place.- She comments, sharp, kicking without looking at it another ammass of mud. She's already tired of all those flies buzzing around her ears.

-How did we arrive here...?- Marcy starts thinking out loud.

-It...it was the blue light. That thing that came out from Anne!- They say, nervous, Sasha grabs their shoulders when she ears their breath is growing faster.

-Marcy! Look at me!- She says, peremptory, holds Marcy's face in her hands to raise their chin and look at them right in the eyes.

-Don't panick, ok? All it's gonna be...fine.- She swallows before saying the last word. Saying a lie in that situation is necessary but it still hurts. Marcy nods, takes a deep breath.

-Ok. Ok, you're right. It looked like neither Anne knew what those powers were...That's a good thing.- They start walking again, Sasha glances at Marcy with a nervous face.

-What do you mean?- She asks, sharp, Marcy swallows.

-Well...I say that, maybe, Anne had always had those powers...maybe she didn't tell us...- Sasha interrupts Marcy, almost yells to drown out their words.

-Don't even try to say it, Marcy! She's our friend! Our best friend! No, she didn't lie to us for all this time. We would have known if she had...strange anime powers, ok?- Marcy sighs.

-I was just analysing every possibility.- The atmosphere turns tense and they both stop talking, till the mud on the ground becomes less dense and high, till the swamp disappears and they arrive on a high hill.

Sasha takes a comforted breath but her sensation of relief turns into astonishment as soon as she gives a look around she and Marcy. After the hill an entire wide valley, closed in a hug of montains, is crossed by bright blue rivers, dark green forests. Sasha notices a creak between two mountains, like a passage out of the walley.

-Woah.- Marcy comments, they're speechless right like Sasha. Sasha shakes her head, they have no time to hesitate on a beautiful view.

-Move, come on.- She says, sharp, grabs Marcy's hand maybe a bit too tight, Marcy gives her a bothered look.

-I can walk by myself, Sasha.- They say, tearing off Sasha's hold their hand. Sasha bites her lower lip without saying anything. They're both nervous, that's all. But she doesn't understand why now seems so complicate talking with Marcy. Maybe it's because they just fell into another world, probably.

She sighs, closes her eyes for a second. Maybe it's all a nightmare, now she'll wake up. It doesn't work, as she opens her eyes she's still on the top of the hill. Marcy, instead, has moved on an almost invisible path on the grass.

-Sasha, look!- They shout, pointing with her hand a thin line of smog raising to the sky from the bottom of the hill.

-A camp! There's someone!-

-Marcy, no!- Sasha shouts behind them, starting running as they started too. But she was too slow, Marcy had advantage on her.

-Here there, in the camp!- Someone answers their yells. A figure exit from a tent, Sasha feels the breath missing on her throat. That's not a human for sure. The figure cracks their long tail to the ground and Marcy stops their run too, as soon as their eyes realise what they're looking at.

Sasha reaches them, grabs their shoulders to not lose them another time.

-Ehy there, kids!- The figure talks, waving both their hands in the air.

-Come on, come closer! Aren't you a bit far from home?- Sasha and Marcy exchange a gaze but then, slowly, they walk on the path directed to the human-sized lizard that's greeting them.

a/n I think the chapters will be like 1000-1200 words long, I don't wanna make too long or too short chapters (in that case I'd warn y'all on the notes before the chapter).
