Today was the day. Today was the day Kurra could confess his undying love to Nagisa.

He’d planned out everything—the date, time, place, what he’d wear, what he’d say, what Nagisa would say, everything.

Kurra adjusted his navy blue tie once more before picking his phone off the dresser and dialing Sujimura’s number. The phone rang for a moment before Sujimura let out a sigh and an agitated, “What?”

Kurra giggled. “Today’s the day~,” He said in a sing-song voice. “What’s today, Kurra?” Sujimura asked. “Today’s the day I tell sensei how I feel!” Kurra announced. He could almost see Sujimura roll her eyes through the phone. “Didn’t I tell you not to do that? I mean, Sensei’s twen—” Kurra cut her off. “It’s only four years! It’s not that big of a deal!” He shouted.

“It’s weird, and I’m sure Nagisa~Sensei’ll tell you the same,” Sujimura said. She was trying to help him, but Kurra thought—no, knew—she was trying to get in the way of his and Nagisa’s love. “Well, you can keep your opinions to yourself! Sensei will love me back for sure! Just you wait and see!” And with that, he hung up.

Kurra looked at himself in the mirror. “It’s fine, it’ll be fine!” He told himself, smoothing out his hair and blazer, before adjusting his tie again. He checked the time. “7:39!? I have to be there by 7:50!” He exclaimed. Kurra scrambled to grab his bag. He ran out of the house and to the park, not caring who stared as he dashed through the sidewalk.

He stopped at the bus stop. As he waited for the bus, Kurra checked his bag. “Roses.., chocolate…, mini teddy bear…, Math notebook, extra paper, phone, pencils, erasers…,” He trailed off. “Oh, good, I didn’t forget anything!” Kurra sighed in relief as the bus pulled up and came to a stop infront of him. He walked up the steps and looked for a seat.

No free seats… That’s fine, I’ll just stand!’ He thought and gripped onto the handle above him. ‘Nothing will ruin today for me! Nothing!’

Ten minutes later, the bus halted at the next stop. Kurra quickly made his way off and thanked the driver, watching as he drove away. Kurra glanced at his phone. ‘7:45!? I need to hurry!’ Kurra ran to the park, practically sprinting. Once he got there, he began looking frantically for his teacher.

There, on a vacant bench, was Nagisa reading a book. His white, tucked-in, long-sleeve blouse matched his olive green ankle pants and ink black flats perfectly. The sun shone bright, casting a warm shadow over his clothes. The wind gently blew on his hair. Kurra watched as Nagisa brushed a lock of  his hair behind his ear. The teen shook his head. ‘Focus!’ He told himself. Nervously, Kurra stepped toward his teacher. Long before he was even within five feet of the man, Nagisa looked up at him and waved.

Kurra blushed faintly and picked up his pace, then sat down next to Nagisa. Upon noticing Kurra’s outfit, Nagisa giggled. “What? What’s funny?” Kurra panicked. What had he done wrong? “Nothing, nothing, it’s just… Why are you wearing a suit? I’m only tutoring you,” Nagisa laughed. Kurra looked to the floor in embarrassment. “Can we just get started..?” He mumbled.

Nagisa nodded, his laugher fainting. Kurra pulled out his notebook and Nagisa pulled out a sheet of paper and used his book to write on. “What are you having trouble with?” The teacher asked. “Well…,”

An hour later, Kurra felt he understood the math now. “Get it?” Nagisa asked. Kurra nodded. “Yeah, thanks, Nagisa~Sensei,” The teen smiled, to which his teacher smiled back. “Well.., now that that’s done with…,” Kurra began.
