It has been a week since I arrived to Oulu. I kinda settled in the apartment of Niko. Luckily he had a guest room, so I could stay there. I didn't plan on staying long, a maximum of a few months until I find a job and an apartment.
And speaking about jobs... Before I came back, I arranged a few job interviews, so I won't have to waste my time with that once I'm here. I've already been through 4 of them, and they seemed pretty nice, so I am hopeful. Today I will have my 5th one and that's the one that I want the most. A quite well-known Finnish designer brand is looking for a new member to the team, so I have to do my best.
My very very best...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I definitely won't mark this day as my best one.
I went to that interview today. Everything seemed to be so great. They were very kind to me and they looked like definitely interested about my CV. Then reality hit me right in the face.
"Lotta, you really seem to have great potential in the industry. Unfortunately, it looks like we found someone for this position, but I will save your resume in the system, so whenever we will have a vacancy, I will call your first. "
And that was it.
Oh and it's not the best part.
I was on my way home, driving through a street, when I heard a bang from outside. Somebody probably had a car crash. Then I realized I also felt a bump from behind. Oh, so I was the one who had the crash. Great!" I can't believe it!" I sighed as I got out of the car. Some idiot just came right into me.
"Where the fuck did you put your eyes?" I shouted at a guy who just stepped out his vehicle. He actually looked a bit familiar, but he was wearing a hat and a hood so I couldn't really recognize him. And I was way too furious to even care about it.
"Me? Sorry, but where did you put yours? Couldn't you see I was coming?"
" Well of course I didn't cause you were 5 km away! You had plenty of time to slow down but probably you were busy looking at yourself in the mirror!"
I recognize a handsome guy when I see one, and he was definitely a good-looking boy, but not the type of person I would get into a relationship with.
"Fine, say what you want but I gotta go, I'm already late." He took out his wallet out of his pocket and handed me some money. " Here, take this and fix your car."
"What? I don't need your money!" Actually some money would have came in handy, but not from him. Never.
"Alright." He put his wallet back to his pocket, and went back to his car. "Goodbye then."
He sit back to his vehicle and he left me there with a broken car, and with no will to make it through the day.
"You idiot!" I shouted after him, but it was useless of course.
I also sit back to my own car and drove home. Before going back to the flat, I sat in the car for a couple of minutes. I knew Niko won't be mad at me about the car, but I still felt terrible for it. Even though it wasn't my fault. I guess I wanted to prove him and also myself, that I can handle life on my own. Guess I still have to work on it.
For now, all I wanted to do for the rest of the day is laying in my bed and watching my favourite shows.
I got out of the car and walked to the building where the apartment was.It wasn't huge but it was perfectly fine for the two of us. As I stepped in, I let out a kinda loud sight, but it wasn't as loud as the noise I could hear coming from the kitchen. When I took off my shoes, I saw five unknown pair of shoes laying higgledy-piggledy next to each other. I was surprised, I didn't know we had guests today. But it's not my house, not my business. Based on the number of the shoes, I though that probably Niko's band mates were here, which would have made sense, since they have been working a lot on their new song lately.
After I took of my shoes and coat, I walked to my room. The kitchen, where the guys were most likely to be found, was at the opposite part of the house, so I didn't think they heard me. Luckily. I wasn't really in the mood to chit-chat with anybody, definitely not with five guys I didn't know. Not to mention that I knew they were really important to my brother, so I wanted to make a good first-impression.
I changed into something comfortable, and sat down to my sofa which was standing in the corner of my room, next to my desk. I scrolled through somw social media sights then I thought that J should write a new chapter to my blog.
I neglected it a bit, so it was just time to continue. In most of the cases I have a certain topic tk write about, but sometimes it was just a little catch up about my life. Just like the chapter I was about to write.
I started typing my thougths into a Word-file, when I heard someone knocking on my door."Go away!"
"Lotta, it's me, open it please!" I heard Niko's voice through the door. Oh please no. I just didn't want to talk to him either. Of course it wasn't his fault, I just didn't want him to see me like this. Disappointed. Feeling like crap.
I rolled stood up from my chair, and slightly opened the door. " How can I help? And how did you know I'm home?"
"I saw your shoes outside. I just wanted to introduce you the guys. Sorry it's this sudden, we were supposed to meet in the studio, but then there was a blackout there so we decided to come here."
"Ah, I see. I heard you, I just didn't want to interrupt you."
" Why would you do that? So wanna come outside?"asked Niko happily.
" Honestly, not really." I answered quickly.
"Oh come on, don't be like that! They would really like to meet you."
"Me too, but I had a pretty shitty day. First I didn't get the job I wanted the most, then coming home, some idiot crashed your car. Which I'm gonna get fixed once I have a job I, promise. So I hope you get it and I'm pretty sure you don't want your friends to meet this version of me. "
"How about five minutes?"
I knew he won't leave me alone until I go out.
"One minute."
"Great! And I'm really sorry about the job. I'm sure you will find a much better one. And don't worry about the car either. I have insurance."
I knew he tried to make me feel better but honestly nothing could have really helped me.
We went out of my room, Niko went in front of me, leading the way. As we arrived to the living room, a 4 of the guys were there sitting on the couch, watching something on their phones. I made a quick count and realized that somebody was missing.
"So guys, this is my baby sister, Lotta. Lotta, these are the guys I'm spending most of my time with: Alex, Olli, Tommi, Joonas and we also have Joel who is in the kitchen currently.
I forced a smile on my face and waved to everyone and then I turned to Joel, who just stepped into the living room.
That was the moment I freezed.
Because it was him. That damn car-crashing guy.
