"How do I know?" bellowed Harry. "The question is how we're going to get in there!"
"But... Harry, think about this," said Hermione, taking a step toward him, "it's five o'clock in the afternoon... The Ministry of Magic must be full of workers... How would Voldemort and Sirius have got in without being seen? Harry... they're probably the two most wanted wizards in the world... You think they could get into a building full of Aurors undetected?"
"I dunno, Voldemort used an Invisibility Cloak or something!"Harry shouted.
"But... Sirius is in Grimmauld Place," said Viola. "No one except the Order knows where it is and he's not been allowed to leave."
"So he decided to leave!" he said loudly. "You saw how much he hated that place!"
"Stop shouting!" Viola hissed, taking the extra few steps to near him. "You brought us to an abandoned classroom for a reason, you might aswell be announcing this in the common room. And we're just trying to make sense of all this."
He looked away from her, though lowered his tone a little when he next addressed Hermione. "Anyway, the Department of Mysteries has always been completely empty whenever I've been —"
"You've never been there, Harry," said Hermione. "You've dreamed about the place, that's all."
"They're not normal dreams!" His voice rose again as he stood up, taking a step closer to her. "How d'you explain Ron's dad then, what was all that about, how come I knew what had happened to him?"
"He's got a point," said Ron quietly, looking at Hermione.
"But this is just — just so unlikely!" said Hermione desperately. She rounded on Viola. "You're with me on this, right?"
Harry turned to her, too, and Viola froze under both of their intense gazes. Honestly, she wasn't sure what she believed. Everything had happened so fast since that exam, there wasn't enough time to fully think this through.
"I mean... Sometimes you are right about these things, Harry, but Hermione has a point. It just doesn't make sense that Voldemort... kidnapped Sirius Black of all people from a secret headquarters and dragged him to the Ministry, just so he could show you!"
The agitation on Harry's face only deepened when he realised she didn't truly believe him. Viola felt bad — she believed that Harry believed what he saw was true. But whether it actually was real was a whole different story. But Ron did raise a good point about his dad...
Viola sat down on the table Harry had just abandoned. Her brain felt like it had just been thrown through a Portkey unprepared. Her thoughts sped around, bouncing off one another and fighting for dominance, but not one of them could win completely. She didn't know what to think and the frustration of that made her want to rip all her hair out.
"Why," Hermione persisted, nodding gratefully to Viola, "why on earth would Voldemort want to use Sirius to get the weapon, or whatever the thing is?"
"I dunno, there could be loads of reasons!" Harry yelled. "Maybe Sirius is just someone Voldemort doesn't care about seeing hurt —"
"You know what, I've just thought of something," said Ron in a hushed voice. "Sirius's brother was a Death Eater, wasn't he? Maybe he told Sirius the secret of how to get the weapon!"
"Yeah — and that's why Dumbledore's been so keen to keep Sirius locked up all the time!" said Harry.
Ron's eyes suddenly widened; Viola wasn't happy seeing another person look at her while she couldn't even make up her own mind about the current case. "Hang on, your family are Death Eaters. What d'you think, do —"
