"Then her bad ass gone pour the damn fruit in the bowl on to pour it all on the floor." My mom complained.
"Okay mama stop doing to much on my child." I chuckled holding her close to my chest, she was asleep.
"No im serious that girl is bad!" I nodded I already know my daughter is bad. "So I actually have to talk to you."
"I was just going to ask what was that about." I got up and took Dailani to the bedroom, I had no clue how my mom would react.
"Mommy when I say listen to me I mean really carefully because I'm going to go slow in a way you can understand."
"Okay."
"So when I got pregnant, I told you it was for Noah however I lied." I started off strong, I hated mentioning Noah.
I was so depressed when he died 3 years back, it was heartbreaking. Even though him and I both knew he wasn't Dai's father he loved her.
She didn't view him as a dad though, she called him uncle Nono, I thought it was the cutest thing.
She would call him NoNo so everyone who thought he was her dad just assumed they had a nickname.
"I'm going to start from the beginning, so I always tell you about the knight and the princess."
It's the words I used when I want to talk about Devale and I and don't want to mention our names.
I do it because I know my mom enjoys it, she's very mysterious. "Yes I do baby, where you going with this?"
"Well the knight is the princess's kids father. When the princess was in high school she met the Knight and they were immediately drawn to each other. Their personality bounced off the wall with each other."
"The knight was very forbidden from dating princesses so they couldn't be seen with each other."
"However the princess decided to go with the knight one day and sleep with him and she got pregnant." I started to tear up.
"That's when things went l..left." I stammered on my words thinking about the situation. "The knight told the princess she was a bet between the other knights and she was hurt."
"However a couple weeks later she found out she was pregnant and knew it was the knights and not to e princes."
"She wanted to tell him but when she went to his house his girl was there's. She told his girlfriend to tell him she stopped by and she did. When the knight and the princess spoke all they did was argue and fight."
"The princess decided it was best to keep her blessed baby to herself." I was now done and hoped the got the point.
She slid down by me and wiped my eyes, "Crystal I don't know what the hell you just said." we both laughed.
I took a deep breath
"Momma Im the princess, Noah is the prince, Lani is the blessed baby and the knight is Devale Ellis."
Her face was unreadable but after awhile it grew a mug, "Wait you're serious?" She stood to her feet.
"YOU WERE SLEEPING WITH A TEACHER?"
I jumped at her tone. "Mommy I didn't mean to."
Even at my big age of 23, I was still so afraid of my mom. "Crystal you have to freaking kidding me right now."
"Why would you not tell me this Renee, did he assault you? I swear to go I will have him thrown in ja- he didn't mom!"
"I wanted it, I was just being grown and ended up getting pregnant. Devale has no idea she's his."
"Well if he's smart he'll do the math but other than that- Renee I can not believe this." She cut me off.
"So for five years you lied and said Noah was Dai's dad- I never said that, you assumed and I let you!"
"THAT DOESN'T MATTER RENEE, YOU SHOULD'VE TOLD ME!"
"Out of all people why would you tell me? I was there for you and have been this entire time. That's the least you could've done."
"Mommy I'm sorry okay, I didn't want you to get D fired or anything." I mumbled but she heard me.
"Why wouldn't I get him fired? He was 21 sleeping with my 18 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER."
"He's a rapist and a predator."
"Okay mom, I get it I should've told you and I didn't. I apologize but I won't let you sit here and accuse this man of being something He's not!"
"Crystal leave my house immediately," I grabbed my purse and stomped up the stairs to get my daughter.
Once I retrieved her, I came back down the stairs. Ignoring my moms glares and left her house.
I got home at around 8:34pm, I changed Dai's clothes and put her in her bed. She slept through everything.
I took me a nice warm candlelit bath before I got ready for bed, I checked my phone, sent out my last messages and set alarms.
After I went to my music app and connected it to my speaker, I put on my sleep playlist before putting my phone on the charger.
I grabbed my eye mask and let the sleep take over me.
