"probably..." valencia trailed off, drifting into her own thoughts. blake was probably right, she was just overthinking. "so... have you got yourself a girlfriend yet?" valencia asked with a questionable grin.

"stop smiling at me like that," blake laughed to himself, causing valencia to copy his actions and start laughing aswell. "no i don't have a girlfriend. i haven't really got the chance to meet many people yet. but now that i've got a house in the town... i guess we'll see if i meet anyone special."

valencia shook her head with a laugh, unable to control the large grin on her face. she loved her brother, it was just unfortunate how late in life they met. but she wouldn't change the fact that they finally found each other, for the world. she was proud of blake, blake was proud of her. they'd both grown up to be amazing, young people.

"she would've been proud of you, you know." blake spoke in a calm voice, after a moment of comfortable silence between the pair of siblings. valencia looked at blake, a sweet smile still stretched across her face. "mum. i've never really told you everything about her. she was beautiful, warm, bubbly. it's where you get it from."

valencia could feel her eyes begin to fill with water, she kept the genuine smile on her face as she imagined what her mum was like. valencia could see blake's face fall and he looked down at the table, fiddling with his hands. valencia gently grabbed blake's hands and smiled reassuringly. "you don't have to talk about her. whenever you're ready, i'll listen."

blake nodded his head, putting his arm around valencia and kissing her forehead. suddenly a car engine could be heard outside of the house. valencia and blake both looked at one another before getting up from the table and rushing through the house to get to the front door.

valencia pulled open the door, letting out a loud sigh of relief when she saw malia, lydia and scott all waiting in the car, smiling as if happy to see the girl. valencia turned around to blake, pulling him into a tight embrace. "i'll be back later, after earlier with noah, i'd rather not go back home tonight."

blake nodded his head understandingly, "i'll get your room ready. and remember, you have your own room so you can decorate however you like." blake told his sister who laughed into his hoodie.

"you're the best," she laughed and pulled away from blake before turning around and walking down the driveway to her friends car. with one last wave, valencia jumped into the back of the car and immediately dropped her happy expression. "i was worried about you guys!"

scott held his hands up in defence, his eyes widening at valencia's sudden change in tone. "there was no service! and even if there was we wouldn't have been able to call you with everything going on."

"whatever." valencia rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, going into a huff in the back seat of the car beside malia. valencia let out an obnoxiously loud sigh. "so, what happened?" she shot forward in her seat, once again changing her whole mood.

the three supernaturals in the car began to laugh at valencia who waited patiently to be told what happened in canaan.

"the ghost riders took the whole of canaan just like they're doing to beacon hills." lydia started to explain, being the first to stop laughing. "there was one woman left, her and her son. well, he's not real. turns out the woman was a banshee which is why she wasn't taken by the ghost riders. they don't take banshees."

valencia listened carefully to lydia, feeling bad for the redhead. if they couldn't stop the ghost riders, that meant that everyone in beacon hills would be taken, all except lydia. she would be left all alone.

"we asked the woman about stiles, but she said people haven't been through canaan since 1987, the year everyone disappeared, was taken." scott added on to lydia's explanation.

"so why did stiles say to look for canaan...?" valencia asked confused, raising her eyebrow as she leaned forward in her seat. everyone stayed quiet, waiting for somebody else to answer the question.

scott shrugged his shoulders, letting a sigh fall from his lips. "i'm not sure, but clearly there's something more to it than what he told us. whenever he did tell us, he seemed panicked before the radio cut off. he could be anywhere, with anyone and anything."

valencia bit down on her lip as the car pulled into the mccall house driveway. scott was first out of the car, jogging up the steps to his front door and walking into the house he lived in. meanwhile, valencia, malia and lydia slowly made their way out of the car and to the steps.

"are you okay?" valencia asked a very zoned-out lydia who slowly turned around to face the two girls behind her.

"i'm fine," lydia answered but failed to convince malia and valencia. malia furrowed her eyebrows, walking around to stand beside lydia instead of behind her. "okay, i was thinking about lenore. there's myths about the wild hunt and the morrigan. they left lenore behind."

"she's definitely a banshee? a banshee is supernatural, why wouldn't she have been taken?" malia asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion.

lydia shrugged her shoulders. "the morrigan was a banshee," lydia comfirmed with a nod of her head. valencia's face dropped and she looked into the eyes of her best friend.

"so when the wild hunt moves on from
beacon hills..." malia started but trailed off, not wanting to come to terms with the fact that lydia would be left all by herself and all of them would be gone, forgotten.

"i'll be like lenore," lydia finished for malia with teary eyes but she pushed back the tears. "left behind. alone."

realisation fell upon malia's face, as did a frown on her lips. valencia shook her head and grabbed a gentle hold of lydia's hand, rubbing it with her thumb. "i won't let that happen," valencia told lydia with a dedicated face, "i won't, lydia."

lydia sent an appreciative smile at valencia, squeezing her hand slightly. the three girls continued up the steps of the mccall house. malia was the first to enter the house but immediately stopped in her tracks, causing valencia to raise her eyebrow at the sudden stop.

malia let a loud growl fall from her lips, valencia pushed past malia to look for what was upsetting her. moving past malia, valencia's eyes landed on a familiar figure.

valencia's heart dropped in her stomach and everything went quiet for a moment. standing infront of her, was somebody she expected to never see ever again. but there he was, standing there with a slight smirk on his face as if nothing ever happened. but his smirk dropped from his face when his eyes landed on valencia.

a frown replaced the smirk as he stared into the girls eyes, the girl whom he loved so much, but had hurt so badly. valencia could hear her heart beat, that was how quiet her world went. she shook her head and took a step back.

"hey, malia. you aren't still upset about the whole shooting thing, are you?" theo's voice entered valencia's ears and a shiver was sent down her spine. it had been so long she'd almost forgotten what he sounded like.

malias eyes shone blue and she growled again, this time more vengeful, before she shot forward at the raeken boy and valencia had to turn away from the scene to keep herself from dragging the girl away from
him.
